Who are the faces of New Mexico? Who are our people? This project is created so that we not only see the faces of folks who are part of our New Mexico tale, we also hear a bit of their story. These are my maternal grandparents, Benjamin Franklin Ayres and Myrtle McDaniel Ayres. This seems like a good place to start my Faces of New Mexico project. Who were they and what’s their story? How did they get to New Mexico? They met in Seymour, Texas, where tall, lean, blue-eyed Frank Ayres courted Myrtle for a series of Sundays in
