The Crystal Serenity gets struck by a rouge wave in the Med

Cruising is generally very safe and incidents are few and far between however incidents can sometimes happen.

It has come to light that the 6 star ultra luxury cruise ship, the Crystal Serenity (click HERE to read about my cruise on her) has been struck by a rouge wave and had some damage caused.

The wave hit the hit on the early hours of Saturday the 26th April 2014 and caused three windows of the dining room to be blown in and let in some water.

Fortunately it seems that many guests were unaware that this actually happened and there has been no reports of anyone being hurt.

The wave struck whilst the ship was en-route to Monte Carlo along the Southern coast of Spain.

Everything has now been fixed and is back to normal.

I have to say that I am surprised that this sort of thing has happened in the Mediterranean sea at this time of year, it just goes to show that you really can not predict what the weather is going to do !
