The sun is shining, and the trees are blooming. Spring has sprung in the Smoky Mountains! Mother nature decided to cooperate and give us what we have all been wanting the last 6 months, Warm weather! So, now that’s it’s warm, what’s there to do? Well, the Smoky Mountains is where it’s at! When it’s warm outside, what’s one of the things people like to do? Eat!! That’s right! Eat!! People will be firing up the grills, having picnics, you name it. So, if you’re one of the many folks who love good food, Downtown Gatlinburg is the place to be. On May 8, for the first time ever, Gatlinburg celebrates its culinary past with the Gatlinburg Beans ‘n Cornbread Blast. There will be games, mountain bluegrass music, and of course, beans and cornbread. There will be multiple vendors lined up to compete for the one with the best beans and cornbread. The famous, and local, Bush Beans Brothers will be featured during the event. For a small fee, one that doesn’t even add up to all the food you will consume, will allow you to sample all the different recipes that will be on display. The fun doesn’t stop there! During this fun, food-filled shindig, you will get to help choose the winner of who has the best beans and cornbread. So, come hungry and ready to dance and have a rootin’ tootin’ good time! The event is from 1pm-6pm in downtown Gatlinburg. This event will also help support our local Humane Society. Who wouldn’t want to come out and sample some amazing food, and help a local business in need? We look forward to seeing ya’ll there on May 8!!
