A wonderful meadow campsite situated in the grounds of the stately home of Hale Park in the New Forest. Plenty of space to find your own special pitch with spectacular views of the surrounding forest and Hale Park house itself.
Being in the New Forest and close to the River Avon, there are a number of great walking and cycling routes. And if you’re feeling hungry or thirsty along the way, there are a number of lovely pubs spotted around the area.
What’s also special about this campsite is the extra luxuries – coffee, pastries, gin & tonics, beer and food vans. Campers also have the option to do pilates on Sundays followed by a swim in the River Avon.
Ok, this is a bit of a 2-for-1 deal as there is Harry’s Field campsite as well, just down the road in the New Forest. A nicely kept campsite in the heart of Frogham village, Frogham Common on the doorstep and the Foresters Arms Pub next door, (known as the donkey pub).

2. Lepe Beach Campsite
A spacious grassy field campsite just 150 yards from Lepe Beach with amazing views of the Solent and the Isle of Weight. The site is located just behind Lepe Country Park which features a large picnic area and play area for little ones to roam. There is the added bonus of Lepe Beach Café & Shop down on the waterfront, which serves afternoon tea and delicious hand-made cakes.
The campsite is run by Eazycamp which means you can have the ease of camping in one of their pre-pitched tents. Or, you can bring your own tent or roof tent and pitch up for great views too.
Lepe beach offers perfect conditions for sand castles, paddling, swimming, paddle boarding, canoeing, sailing and more. Lepe is located on the edge of the New Forest and has easy access to the rest of the forest and its various activities.

3. Cedar Valley Campsite
Nestled in the shadow of the South Downs, this quiet picturesque campsite has a real charm about it. The campsite is based in the private estate of Bereleigh and has two spacious and relaxed campsites, with beautiful surroundings. ‘The Paddock’ is for families and small groups, whilst ‘The Meadows’ is an adults-only site.
A great feature of this site is ‘The Dell’ bus – a cafe, bar and restaurant, in the corner of a field with beech trees surrounding it. They also serve delicious wood-fired, sourdough pizzas and a selection of Hampshire’s celebrated beer and cider.
The campsite is positioned in the Meon Valley and offers glamping and camping. Close by is the village of East Meon featuring two great pubs. There’s plenty of walking and cycling along the South Downs Way and fishing is available at East Meon Springs.

4. Hillcrest Farm Campsite
Immerse yourself in the outstanding Hampshire countryside with plenty of space for peace and quiet. Hillcrest Farm is primarily an equestrian site but they also provide seasonal eco-friendly camping. The farm is set on the northern edge of the South Downs National Park, about five miles drive south of the village of Alresford.
The camping pitches are located on over 200 acres of fields, woods and meadows. They have hand-crafted a limited number of pitches to ensure plenty of space for everyone during your stay. 5. Stockbridge View Campsite
Positioned on a hill overlooking the town of Stockbridge, this laidback campsite offers great views and quick access to the River Test (and it’s a stone’s throw away from Tent & Trail HQ).
Open all year round, good shower and toilet facilities, dogs and fires welcomed. You can buy firewood on-site and take advantage of the provided benches while camping.
From the campsite wander down the footpath to the busy little town of Stockbridge. Renowned for its trout fishing on the River Test, the town also features many shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs.
