Where Is Cala Mitjana Beach?

Located on the south of the island, along from the coastal resort of Cala Galdana providing beautiful views out to the Mediterranean sea.

Depending on which way you walk, you have Cala Galdana beach one side and Trebalúger beach the other.

For those walking you can find on Google Maps here.

For those sailing or reaching by boat, you can use 39°56’02.8″N 3°58’19.9″E.

Why Is Cala Mitjana Beach So Famous?

Shallow, crystal clear waters. A hidden cove away from modern trappings. Fine white sand stretching 200 metres wide and around 30 metres long. What’s not to love.

I think this photo of sums up why the Cala Mitajana beach in Menorca is one of the most spectacular.

Visiting Cala Mitjana On Foot

Conveniently, there is a car park located near the beach, which you can find here. Really easy to find via car, head towards Cala Galdana on the Me-22 at Ferrrerries. Once on this road follow it all the way to Cala Galdana and just before you reach the first roundabout at the resort, you find the parking. It’s well marked with a blue road sign.

Walking to Cala Mitjana from the car park simply follow the signs. The footpath is relatively flat and great for families, push chairs and those with reduced mobility. The path is quite well shaded too due to the lush shrubbery and trees. This route will take around 10-15 minutes.

There is an alternative route by foot.

If walking from the Cala Galdana resort itself you can follow part of a segment of the Camí de Cavalls. From the resort and the roundabout by the Cala Mitjana car park, take the road heading up on the left. Follow all the way up until you see a sign pointing you towards Cala Mitjana. Follow the sign and you’ll reach a dead end roundabout. From here, follow the path and no doubt small stream of people to the beach.

If Visiting Cala Mitjana on foot it may be worthwhile stopping by the equally as stunning sister beach, Cala Mitjaneta

Visiting Cala Mitjana By Boat

The more unique way of visiting here is by boat. Parking up and dropping your anchor in safe spot and swimming over to the beach.

If visiting by boat, be sure to take a camera. You’ll be treated to the best views of the bay and they’re not to be missed.

39°56’02.8″N 3°58’19.9″E. is the point for your boat GPS system to visit.

Visiting by boat also allows you the opportunity to visit some of the beaches near Cala Mitjana, such as Cala Mitjaneta or Cala de Trebalúger.

Visiting Cala Mitjana By Bus

For those of you not staying in Cala Galdana, don’t have a boat or haven’t hired a car. Visiting by bus is a viable option.

Take any bus that visits Cala Galdana, which includes Line 51, Line 52 and Line 53. Ensure you get off the bus stop Rotonda C. Galdana.

From the Rotonda C. Galdana bus stop head towards the roundabout, take the exit towards the left and head up the hill. You’ll see a sign just under 1 kilometre up the hill pointing towards the beach. Follow the sign to the roundabout and head straight over and follow the route.

If you miss the Rotonda C. Galdana you’ll need to ensure you get off within the resort and pick up the route further into the resort.

Top Tips When Visiting Cala Mitjana

With the beach being somewhat secluded, and idyllic we might add. You’re probably left wondering what you need to bring and what there is and isn’t available at the beach.

  • There are no restaurants or bars available
  • However, there may be a vendor selling a few snacks and drinks – so bring some cash with you
  • Bins and toilets are available near the entrance. Remember to clean up after yourselves and leave no trace that you were there
  • Remember sun cream
  • Remember plenty of food and drink
  • Shade can be found near the entrance along with picnic beaches
  • But otherwise remember a parasol or umbrella as there are none available to rent
  • Limited phone signal
  • We recommend visiting as early as possible
  • This beach can get busy, so it might be worthwhile visiting Cala Mitjaneta beach
  • Don’t forget your snorkel mask
