Flight disruption to and from Israel

Many airlines from around the world are cancelling flights to Israel due to the current unsettling situation in the Middle Eastern country.  British Airways axed its Sunday Flight but its flights tomorrow are still currently scheduled to operate - potentially flying people into a war zone (as of 14:07 BST).

El Al is continuing to operate many flights, however, it says that because of the ongoing situation and in accordance with the instructions of the Israeli security forces, the firm's flights will depart from Terminal 3 only - including flights which were originally planned to depart from Terminal 1.

El Al advises that passengers who already initiated their Travel wishing to advance their return until Friday, October 13, 2023 (inclusive), may do so without being charged with the "Change of Reservation" fee and/or difference in fare, if applicable, for the same cabin.

Passengers who already initiated their travel, where their return flight is on/before October 13, 2023, may postpone their flight to Israel, without being charged with the "Change of reservation" fee. The difference in fare is due unless they wish to travel on/after Friday, October 13, 2023.

Passengers who have not yet started their journey, and where their departure date is on/before October 13, 2023, may change or freeze their tickets. No "Change of reservation" is due, Difference in fare, if applicable, is due, unless they wish to travel on/before Friday, 13.10.2023. Alternatively, the ticket may be substituted for a voucher, at no additional cost.

American Airlines, Air France, Delta and United have also cancelled their flights and the Israeli Civil Aviation Authority has confirmed that "airports in southern and central Israel, including Timna, Rosh Pina, and Herzliya airports, are closed to private and sports flights."

According to local reports, the health ministry is reporting that around 370 Palestinians are now confirmed as dead in the Gaza Strip, with a further 2,200 injured.  Israeli forces say they have completed over 400 strikes on the Gaza Strip, claiming it was targeting Hamas infrastructure, however, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has used social media and TV news to say he is going to reduce Gaza to rubble and told citizens to leave.
