United's boss sends letter to all staff over recent flight chaos.

Over the weekend one of the major airlines in the U.S. experienced major disruption, which has prompted its boss, Scott Kirby to take to social media and publish a letter he sent to all of United's staff.

The CEO said that last week was one of the most challenging he'd ever experienced working in the aviation industry. During the note, he thanked staff for their hard work, and seemed to blame the disruption on the weather, Newark Airport,  the FAA, but not himself or the airline.

He also mentioned that whilst United's staff were working long hours, in difficult conditions, he took a private jet from New York City on Wednesday, to avoid the difficulties and get home to his family. Kirby says there are “no excuses” which also seems to mean there are no apologies either, so he didn't issue one, he simply said 'I regret that my actions distracted from their professionalism.' after news of the private jet escape broke.

Here is the letter he sent to the staff.
