Instead, the new capital city was meant to address the economic and infrastructure disparities across the country and to create a modern, international-standard city with top-tier facilities such as international hospitals and universities. The President also encouraged governors to attract foreign investment to their respective regions through the new omnibus law.
The President also expressed his gratitude to the governors who attended the event. According to President Jokowi, this is a form of diversity and strong unity among the nation's children in building this new capital city.
"The collaboration between the central government, regional governments, the military, the police, the private sector, and the entire society in supporting the development of the national capital city will greatly help us achieve our aspirations," he said.
