I visited the Rijksmuseum on my most recent trip to Amsterdam, and I loved it!
I love history, artifacts and things such as that, so I really loved it in here.
Even if you aren’t a huge art fan, there is so many artifacts and other things that it is still worth visiting!
I highly recommend allowing 2-3 hours depending on how much you want to see. If you are in a rush, you can do less, but I would just recommend allowing enough time to see everything you are interested in as it is so big and there is so much to see.
I spent many hours in here as it is huge and there is lots to see.
There are some seats scattered around the museum too, so if you are disabled or if you need a break, there is a place to sit. I needed a few breaks as it is a huge place.
Read the cards next to the items as they often give you detailed information about the piece and you can learn something you didn’t know.
The app allows you to get more detailed information, so I highly recommend you download it in advance.
The museum is cashless, so you will need a debit or credit card if you wish to buy anything while there.
You can buy tickets online in advance, to save having to queue to buy tickets. I highly recommend you do this to save time.
The Rijksmuseum is accessible and even has accessible programmes such as a after closing hours entry for disabled and those with sensory issues. This is brilliant!
There are elevators and ramps so if you are in a wheelchair, you will be fine. I love how accessible it is.

This is a perfect rainy day activity too! It was snowing and raining all day when I went, so it was nice to visit when it wasn’t as pleasant outside.
