If you are going to Japan, consider registering your travel online before your travel date. As of March 2023, all travellers, except those entering from China, will only need to show that they had vaccinations or perform a PCR test result taken less than 72 hours before departure.

Registration is at the ‘Visit Japan Web‘ website. The process consists of the following main sections:

1. Registering Visit Japan Web Account – Create an account that you can log in from any browser
2. Register Your Details – Incude your name, passport number etc.
3. Create a Planned Entry/Return – Give the name of your trip and the date of arrival.
4. Quarantine Procedures – Submit your vaccination certificate or your test results.
5. Immigration clearance – Enter details for immigration clearance.
6. Customs Declaration – Declare your items.

After you have completed it, you should save the QR code on your mobile phone to make the immigration process faster.
