Tour Overview

Day 1 : Marrakech to Dades Valley via Ait Ben Haddou and Ouarzazate

Your four-day tour will begin in Marrakech, where we will pick you up and drive you to the breathtaking High Atlas Mountains. We’ll travel via the magnificent Tizi-n-Tichka pass (2,260m) and stop many times to shoot the scenery. On our trip to Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a beautiful example of adobe building design, we will also stop at an Argan oil cooperative. We’ll continue on to Ouarzazate, the Sahara’s entrance and Africa’s Hollywood, where we’ll see the Atlas movie studio.

We’ll next drive down the Thousand Kasbahs Road, seeing Kasbahs on both sides of the road, before arriving at Rose Valley, where we’ll learn about rose products. Lastly, we’ll make our way to Dades Valley, where you’ll spend the night in a traditional Riad.

Day 2 : Dades Valley to Merzouga Desert via Todra Gorges and Erfoud

On the second day, we’ll eat breakfast before heading to the Todra Gorges, a natural paradise with gorges that’s great for rock climbing. After that, we’ll travel via Touroug’s palm orchards to a Berber fabric cooperative before continuing on to Erfoud and Merzouga. You’ll have some free time after settling into your hotel and drinking mint tea. After a camel trekking adventure, you’ll spend the night at a desert camp.

Day 3 : Merzouga Desert Tour and Camel Trekking

This day will be spent enjoying the Merzouga Desert’s natural splendor. You’ll go to Khamlia, a village populated by Black people from Mali who provide traditional life and music that you’ll appreciate. Next you’ll go on an off-road adventure to the black desert, where you’ll see the Mifis mine and watch Berbers at work in shafts that are around 30 meters deep. You’ll also meet nomads, eat Berber pizza, and tour one of the palm grove oasis. Next, you’ll take a camel walk to the camp, where you’ll listen to music around the campfire and spend the night beneath the stars.

Day 4 : Merzouga to Fes through Rissani, Ziz Valley, Cedar Forest, and Ifrane

On the final day, you’ll get up early to see the sunrise over the desert, followed by breakfast. Later we’ll go to Rissani, a town with an ancient and traditional way of life and a souk to explore. We’ll next travel via Ziz Valley to Midelt, pausing for magnificent vistas along the route. Afterwards we’ll go to the Cedar Forest, which is home to the Barbary macaques, and let them run free. Following that, we’ll travel to Ifrane to enjoy its splendor, which resembles alpine architecture and is surrounded by ski slopes and woods. Lastly, we’ll travel to Fes, the imperial city, and leave you off at your Riad or the airport, bringing your 4-day Marrakech to Fes tour to a close.
