See Morocco in style with our 17-day custom tour. Begin in Casablanca and go to Rabat and Meknes before visiting Moulay Idriss and the Volubilis Roman ruins. Spend the day touring Chefchaouen’s gorgeous blue city before heading to Fes for a guided tour of the medina and souks. Then, travel across the Atlas Mountains to Merzouga, a desert village where you’ll ride camels and spend the night under the stars. Continue on to the Toudgha Gorges and Dades Canyon before seeing Berber nomads in their caves and taking in the Skoura Palm Rose Festival. The trip concludes with stops in Ait Benhaddou, Marrakech, and Essaouira.

Tour Overview

Day 1 : Arrival in Casablanca and transfer to hotel

After you arrive at the airport, your guide will meet you and transport you to your Casablanca hotel. The remainder of the day is free for you to recuperate and explore the city on your own.

Day 2 : Casablanca ~ Rabat ~ Meknes

After breakfast, you will see the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, one of the world’s largest mosques, before heading for Rabat. In Rabat, you will see the Royal Palace’s Mechouar, the ruins of Chellah, the Mohammed V Mausoleum, and the Hassan Tower. After lunch, you will travel to Meknes, where you will arrive in the early evening. Dinner and stay in Meknes at your hotel.

Day 3 : Meknes ~ Volubilis ~ Chefchaouen

You will leave Meknes after breakfast to explore the holy city of Moulay Idriss and the Roman ruins of Volubilis. You will next drive through rural areas densely forested with olive and fruit trees to Chefchaouen, stopping for lunch at a local restaurant in Ouezanne. You will arrive in Chefchaouen in the evening for supper and sleep at your hotel.

Day 4 : Free day to explore Chefchaouen

You will have the day to yourself to explore Chefchaouen. You can tour the Kasbah’s gardens and their little museum, which houses a modest collection of vintage guns, instruments, fabrics, and historical images of city lodges. You can also go shopping in the Medina or take a walk on one of the many walking trails that leave from the village. Dinner and sleep at your hotel.

Day 5 : Travel to Fes

After a leisurely morning, you will embark for Fes in the early afternoon. Dinner and stay in Fes at your hotel.

Day 6 : Fés Guided Tour

After breakfast, you will be taken on a guided tour of Fes’s medina and famous souks. You will see traditional Moroccan crafts while visiting the most stunning castles and buildings in Fes, including the tannery and the pottery cooperative.magnificent sunrise over the dunes before returning to the hotel for breakfast and a shower. To get to Toudgha Gorge, travel via the palm-lined valleys of Tourog and Tinjdad. Before proceeding to your lodging in the Dades Canyon, take a walk through the Toudgha Gorges and eat lunch in a local restaurant.

Day 7 : Fes ~ Ifrane ~ Azrou ~ Midelt ~ Merzouga

We will embark from Fes at 8 o’clock, travelling via Azrou, where you may observe Barbary apes in the woodland of the Middle Atlas, widely known as the “Switzerland” of Morocco. We’ll stop for lunch in Midelt, the “apple capital,” before continuing on through the Tizi-n-Talgoumt mountain and the Ziz Valley, which is famous for its palm trees and the length of the oasis.

Day 8 : Merzouga ~ Khamlia ~ Erg Chebbi

Today we shall travel to the desert. We will take you on a tour of the desert dunes, where you will be able to view the nomad way of life and the stunning changing contrasts of the desert.

We’ll go to Khamlia’s “black village” to observe the Gnawa musicians. Lunch will be a classic Berber pizza. In the afternoon, you will prepare to leave on camels. After arriving at the bivouac, you take a camel ride to the top of the dunes to view the sunset. Back at the bivouac, we had dinner and slept in tents.

Day 9 : Merzouga ~ Toudgha Gorges ~ Dades Canyon

We’ll get up early to catch the stunning sunrise over the dunes before returning to the hotel for breakfast and a shower. To get to Toudgha Gorge, we’ll pass via the palm-lined valleys of Tourog and Tinjdad. We’ll go for a walk through the Toudgha Gorges and have lunch at a local restaurant before heading to our lodging in the Dades Canyon.

Day 10 : Dades Canyon ~ Boutaghrar Piste ~ Ouarzazate

A stroll in the Dades Gorges is planned for after breakfast. Returning in the car, the journey to Ouarzazate continues, via the Boutaghrar piste and Iat Mraou Village off-road to see Berber nomads in their caves and share a glass of herbs tea with them.
From here, we travel via the Valley of the Roses, famous for its Rose Festival, and past the kasbahs of Amridil in Skoura Palm, before continuing to Ouarzazate via the large lake of El Mansour Edahbi. Dinner and overnight stay at a typical Riad

Day 11 : Ouarzazate : plan-free day

You will have the rest of the day free to go shopping or sightseeing. The Taourirt Kasbah and Atlas Film Studios, Morocco’s “Hollywood,” are also worth a visit.

Day 12 : Ouarzazate ~ Ksar Ait Ben Haddou ~ Telouet Kasbah ~ Marrakech

After breakfast, the journey continues to Ksar Ait Ben Haddou, a World Heritage site that has served as the setting for numerous Hollywood blockbusters. It is Morocco’s most well-known Ksar. The road continues to Telouet along the new asphalted road from there. Telouet is located in the mountains and was previously the residence of Marrakesh’s last Pasha, El Glaoui, from which the highest pass in Africa, Tizi-n-Tichka, was controlled. We arrive at Marrakesh at the end of the afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay in your Riad.

Day 13 : Marrakech Guided Tour

You will be taken on a guided tour of Marrakech, which will include stops at the Menara Gardens, the Koutoubia Mosque, the Saâdien tombs, and the Bahia Palace. Explore the amazing medina and the interesting Jamaa El Fna square, which features lively entertainment and exquisite Souks.

Day 14 : Marrakech : Plan-free Day

You can spend the day exploring Marrakech or taking an optional day journey to Cascade d’Ouzoud.

Day 15 : Marrakech ~ Essaouira

We will spend the morning at leisure in Marrakech, either shopping or relaxing, before heading for Essaouira at your convenience.

Day 16 : Essaouira : Plan-free Day

Spend the day exploring the Atlantic coast’s old fortified fishing port of Essaouira. Witness the unique blend of Portuguese and Berber architecture. Visit the vibrant souks, art galleries, woodwork workshops dedicated to cedar and Thuya wood carving, and the fortified waterfront with its fresh seafood kiosks.

Day 17 : Essaouira ~Marrakech

We will spend the morning in Essaouira shopping or relaxing before departing early afternoon to get in Marrakech by 4pm [or if you have a departing flight or want to spend time in Marrakech, we may leave at your discretion].
