Hello everyone!
This is the last blog post about our Trip to Bratislava, Budapest, and Vienna. Here, I will sum up yet another story we made and provide you with useful tips and tricks! Make sure to read the introduction, part 1, part 2, and part 3 to find more details about the trip!

So so so… The magic number of three cities gives us these facts:
- We made around 110,000 steps or 70 km during this trip! Now the muscles of our legs are really strong
- I tried to count the expenses that we had during this trip. This time it was harder to do so because Fausta was not with us, so we did not use the Splitwise app for splitting the money, wise We didn’t do it, but I tried to catch the ends and count everything.
*So in total, we spent around 880 Euros. The flights are included in this price. Without it – around 772 euros.
Travel Guide and Tips & Tricks
- Take as few things as possible or have a good backpack that will not cause your back to hurt.
- I suggest you have the objects you want to visit written on paper. You know, sometimes the phone dies right at the worst moment!
- Make sure your shoes are comfortable for walking and they will not leave you with blisters. Donatas came back home with two huge blisters
- Don’t be afraid to ask your host for something. I needed an iron for my clothes, and our host in Bratislava even bought one! Service 10/10!
- If you travel with kids, please be informed that in these countries, people are smoking everywhere, even around kids. For us, it looked like it was a norm to do so.
- Even if you are already tired, push yourself a bit and go to that last object in the list Sacrifice those 30 minutes of rest for something new!
- I wouldn’t recommend visiting these central European cities in summer – it can be too hot to do something as you only want to just lay by the lake or sea
- Download the apps for public transportation, it is much more convenient to pay for the tickets with these apps. For Bratislava – IDS BK, for Budapest – Budapest Go, for Vienna – WienMobil. And download these in advance if you don’t want to use data roaming! The Wi-Fi might not be available everywhere!
- If you can and want, try local food! Or find a good place to eat while you travel!
- Be sure to have cash! It is really important to have it as you sometimes cannot pay with a credit card. And in case of an accident, you will at least have some money.
- One day in Bratislava is enough, it is better to spend more days in Vienna or Budapest.
- If you want to visit the palaces and the beautiful buildings in Vienna, be sure to get some extra cash We didn’t visit a lot as it costs a fortune Hofburg Palace/Sisi Museum – 17.5 euros (this we decided to visit), Vienna Opera House – 9 euros, Hunderwasser Museum – 11 euros, Schonbrunn Palace – 29 euros, the cheapest ticket is for 20 euros, Belvedere Palace: Lower Belvedere – 14.60, Upper Belvedere – 16.7, Belvedere 21 – 9.3 euros.
- We were not in full money-saving mode, so you can for sure spend less in these cities! The cheapest one is Bratislava, then Budapest and then Vienna.
- Just a reminder for the flight tickets – 103.84 eur, which we were lucky not to pay this time
- FlixBus tickets – 53.29 euros
- Apartments – 297 euros
- In Budapest, we spent around 220 euros, in Vienna – 105, and Bratislava also 105 euros.
Unforgettable Trips, New Experiences, and Empty Chairs
So this is it, my wonderful and patient readers. During this trip, we visited a lot of things, and I recommend you do so as well! You will come back home tired, but happy and full of new experiences that were gathered during the trip.
Hint: the initial plan was to not go anywhere in July as we are going to the wonderful festival Yaga Gathering, which is celebrating 20 years this year! But we were sitting and thinking… After doing 6 trips already, are we going to miss the 7th? HELL NO! So so so, those who didn’t see it on Instagram stories, we made a new adventure in Turkey! So July is also full of new adventures that I promise to write about as soon as possible you need the tales, right?
