Putu Piring Tengkera in Malacca is absolutely one of the stalls in Malacca that can bring you comfort food that is bound to have you going back for more. The small stall belongs to a married couple, who manages the business all by themselves, from preparing the Putu Piring to interacting with customers with their friendly and welcoming hospitality.

Putu Piring is a small but delicious cake with crunchy dried coconut flakes on the inside, wrapped with amazingly good steamed rice cakes that are not too cakey. Bonus: everything is cheap and is done in a few minutes! Besides coconut flavor, they also have other flavors such as Gula Melaka.

There are two variations of coconut shake available, one with ice cream and one without. The coconut shake that comes with ice cream is served with a generous scoop of Walls’ ice cream on top of the coconut shake.

Situated right in front of Madam King’s Department Store, this Popiah Stall at Jaan Bunga Raya in Malacca is one hidden treasure that tourists and locals have been raving about for years. A mobile van stall that has staked their claims for the spot right outside the department store, the stall has throngs of crowd queuing for their delicious Popiah on a daily basis. The Popiah here is always warm and moist, with crunchy fillings such as bean sprouts and crushed peanuts. The chopped turnips in the popiah is amazingly soft yet not mushy, swirling around in your mouth with the occasional burst of fried pork lard bringing you a positive surprise.

One of the richest and creamiest cendol ever, every strand of the green starch noodles are packed to the brim with pandan leave aroma. Coupled with crazily thick and fragrant Gula Melaka, you are bound to experience a sweet lingering taste in your mouth that will make you want to go back for more.

Be ready to be treated to all-time classic Nyonya Kuehs like Kuih Kochi, Rempah Udang, Kuih Talam, Nyonya Kuih Chang here at Baba Charlie Lee!
