To meet the rising demand for such holidays, particularly during Holy Week and in the month of February, the majority of contemporary travel firms have improved their tour itineraries to Baguio.

An Overview of Baguio

Within the Cordillera Administrative Region, Baguio City is located on the island of Luzon, Philippines.

Before 1900, the city did not exist yet; instead, the American colonial authorities chose the site of the old Ibalois town known as Kafagway to establish a new metropolis.

The city was planned amid the highlands of the Cordillera mountain range, and it was designed by renowned American architect Daniel Burnham.

Originally a small but orderly village, the City of Baguio has grown into the second-largest commercial, educational, cultural, and tourism seat in the Philippines.

Genuine Splendor

Baguio is known as the "Summer Capital of the Philippines" because of its high elevation and much cooler temperatures than the rest of the country.

As a part of Luzon's tropical pine forest ecoregion, mossy plants and orchids are some of the most abundant types of vegetation found in Baguio City.

Baguio City is not short of sights offering beautiful sceneries, such as Governor Park Road, Burnham Park, and Kennon Road, despite the fact that the city is heavily modernized with over 300,000 inhabitants.

From Manila, Baguio is easily accessible via the Loakan Airport and several major highways.

Local Celebrations

Baguio City's breathtaking beauty can be appreciated in February.

During this season, the city is visited by thousands of people for two of the most well-known regional celebrations.

Perhaps the most magnificent of them all is Panagbenga, or Flower Festival.

With floats decked out in stunning flowers and street dancing with magnificent floral-inspired costumes, it is staged as a tribute to the city's floral displays.

The other main event, which lasts for more than two weeks starting at the conclusion of the winter season, is the Chinese New Year celebration.

Over To You

Baguio City is the location for you if you want to engage in outdoor activities throughout the summer in the Philippines without having to endure the oppressive heat.

The "City of Pines," Baguio, is known for its verdant garden areas, slopes covered in enormous pine trees, and other northern Luzon tourist attractions.
