Travel Tips for Everest Base Camp Trek in April

Although April treks are not difficult, there are various things that you need to take into account to get the best experience.

Stay Hydrated

One of the most important aspects of trekking is to hydrate. As April is warm, you will sweat profusely after walking for hours. Bringing your bottle and carrying water purifying tablets will help.

You must make sure to drink about half a liter of water every hour. We also don’t recommend the consumption of alcohol and meat during the trek.

Alcohol’s effects get magnified at high altitudes resulting in less oxygen to your brain. Similarly, the consumption of meat may result in diarrhea.

Book in Advance

As it is springtime, you will experience difficulty in finding accommodations while on the trek. To avoid this, book in advance.

Moreover, flight tickets are comparatively cheaper when booked in advance.

Walk at your pace

Since you will be traveling to high altitudes, walking at your own pace is key. Remember that it is not a race. You don’t have to get intimidated by other trekkers’ speed or stamina.

Pace yourself and enjoy the view at your leisure. Walking too fast or overexerting yourself will get you sick the next day. It might also cause altitude sickness.
