A RevAir Review (Is it Really Worth It?)

Tags: revair hair

A Revair review has been a long time coming. The RevAir reverse-air hairdryer —  dubbed the world’s first and only Reverse-Air Dryer — has been touted as a game-changer in the hair space. It is said to completely transform how hair is dried, stretched, and straightened. I will admit that I have been intrigued by all the hype around this seemingly magical device.  However, despite the enticing marketing, I still questioned whether the RevAir really works. I wondered if it was actually good for hair.

But, if this device actually did what its promotional materials depicted, I wanted to have front-row seats to the show!  My curiosity eventually got the best of me and I set forth on a truth-seeking and possible myth-busting mission.  Yes, I recently tested the RevAir on my own hair! I came out on the other side of the experience with my honest opinion about the device. It is my hope that my  RevAir review will help you make an informed decision about whether or not to purchase it.

Disclosure: I received the RevAir on a complimentary basis to review. All opinions shared herein are my own, honest, and are not influenced by any being or brand. Additionally, this post may contain affiliate links at no cost to you. Read our disclaimer here.

About the RevAir

The RevAir is marketed as being suitable for all hair types. Design-wise, it consists of three main pieces: a base, a hose, and a wand. Altogether the device weighs slightly less than 10 pounds. Operationally, it works by moving heat in the natural direction of hair cuticles. This prevents the blowing of hot air onto your skin, making for a more comfortable hair drying experience.

Comparatively, the RevAir uses less heat than a traditional blow dryer. On high heat, the maximum RevAir level is 80° Celsius (176° Fahrenheit. This is compared to the 120°Celsius (248° Fahrenheit) heat level of a regular blowdryer. On low heat, the maximum RevAir level is 60°Celsius (140° Fahrenheit).

How to Use the RevAir Reverse Hair Dryer

The RevAir works best when hair is freshly washed, conditioned, detangled, and free from heavy products. Use of a small amount of leave-in conditioner is fine, just ensure that your hair is not dripping with it.  Avoid the use of oil-based products as they can damage the RevAir. Section your hair and use a primer/ heat protectant to protect your tresses. This should be prior to drying, stretching, or straightening your hair with the device.

Be sure to read the instruction booklet provided. This will prevent injury, damage to your hair or to the RevAir, and ensure optimal results. Check out the helpful tutorial below for additional information.

My Experience: RevAir Review

I truly love my natural textured 4C hair. However, it can be quite challenging to maintain it. I’ve learned ways to prevent knots, tangles, and minimize breakage. A tried and tested method is by stretching my hair after washes. Therefore, I was eager to see how well (if at all) my hair would do with the RevAir.

I applied the RevAir Play It Straight Rich Balm Hair Primer to my washed, damp hair. The next step was to use the RevAir for the first time.  I followed the instructions and started off on low settings. My plan was to adjust the tension and heat levels as needed. However, I found that a tension level of 2 and low heat worked well enough. My hair tolerated the process well and was dried and stretched in approximately 30 minutes.

How Much Does the RevAir Cost?

On Amazon, the RevAir costs $439. Note that this price is only for the device, no accessories are included.  On the RevAir website, two options are available. The first option is a cost of $399 which includes both the Reverse-Air Dryer and accessories. The accessories are a RevAir holder, hair towel, spray bottle, Tribology Bright Spot Detangle & Shine Spray, sectioning clips, detangling comb, and a  storage/carry bag. The second option is a cost of $349 for just the RevAir.

RevAir Review: How To Purchase the RevAir

There have been questions about whether the RevAir is sold in stores.  At this time, RevAir Reverse hair dryer is only available for purchase online. You can order it on the RevAir website. Use my RevAir discount code AFROSTYLICITY at checkout to get 10% off your order.

If you place your RevAir order directly on the RevAir website, at checkout, you can choose the installment payment option via After Pay. With After Pay, you can pay for your RevAir in four equal payments without accruing any interest. Note that using  AfterPay will not slow down the RevAir shipping process or timeframe. Additionally, if after you receive the RevAir, you choose to seek a refund, you can still return it.

You can still use the discount code AFROSTYLICITY, even when you use After Pay.

Alternatively, if Amazon is your preferred shopping platform, you can also purchase the RevAir on Amazon. Note that the price on Amazon is higher. Also, the RevAir may be out of stock, or there may be a delay in shipping to you. Additionally, you will not be able to use any discount codes on Amazon.

RevAir Shipping

RevAir shipments originate from a warehouse in Ohio, U.S; therefore, the shipping time to you may depend on the distance between the RevAir warehouse and your location, via FedEx. My order arrived at my Texas address in approximately one week.

At this time shipping is only available to the USA and Canada.  Shipping within the United States states is a flat rate of $5.95 regardless of the size of the package. The costs to Hawaii and Alaska are $20-$40 depending on the total cost of the order. To Canada, the cost is a flat rate of either $20- $40 depending on the total cost of the order.

Pros and Cons: A RevAir Review

The following are the pros and cons of the device, per my opinion.

Pros

The device does what it states it will do. I was able to blowdry and stretch my hair in 30 minutes, with low heat! This is a miracle in itself!

The RevAir allowed for easy styling of my hair. This was without high heat or chemicals, and without damaging my natural curl pattern.

Detailed instructions are provided as part of the RevAir package. Additionally, links to video tutorials are on the RevAir website. This makes for a stress-free learning experience.

There is a 30-day hassle-free money-back guarantee. This comes in handy if you try out the RevAir and determine that it is not right for you.

The RevAir allows for safe at-home hair care in between salon visits.

Cons

The RevAir may be considered cost-prohibitive.

It is a bulky device and weighs slightly less than 10 pounds; therefore, traveling with it may be cumbersome.

Shipping is limited to the USA and Canada.

For best results, hair must be long enough to be suctioned into the vacuum.

RevAir Review: Is RevAir Worth It?

So, the million-dollar question has been posed: Is the RevAir worth it?

In my opinion, the answer is absolutely YES! I enjoyed the ease of use and the mind-blowing (or should I say hair-blowing) results. I do not have to dread hair washing days anymore. Nor do I have to worry about losing chunks of time to the process of stretching my hair.  My hair is staying tangle and knot-free. This in turn will play an instrumental role in the health of my hair and length retention. Plus, I will save money I would typically spend getting my hair stretched and blow-dried at the hair salon. This is not to say that the need for getting my hair professionally treated and styled has been eliminated. Rather, the RevAir will be a tool I use at home in between salon visits.

The RevAir cost may be on the high side, but in my opinion, it is worth it. I was impressed by the fact that RevAir is designed to work well for all hair types. That is quite impressive!

In conclusion, I think the RevAir is a handy tool to have. It can be a game-changer for your hair regimen. You can dry, stretch and straighten your hair all with this one device! Hopefully, this RevAir Reverse Hair Dryer review will help you decide it’s for you.  If you choose to purchase it, remember to use my RevAir coupon code AFROSTYLICITY to save 10% on your order.

Now, pardon me as I go and whip my hair back and forth.
