The total Solar Eclipse is going to delight astronomy enthusiasts today, i.e, 8th April. People around the US and other areas where it will be visible are gearing up to witness the spectacle in the sky. In view of this, the national parks in USA that are located along the path of the solar eclipse 2024 have issued advice for visitors.

The national parks are gearing up to handle the influx of visitors. The Cuyahoga Valley National Park in Ohio and Hot Springs National Park in Arkansas are some of the parks that are bracing for massive crowds.

Navigating the Traffic

The Hot Springs National Parks expects heavy traffic on its roadways and advises visitors to check for any local roadway closures. Authorities request the visitors to be patient and courteous while driving. Shuttle services will also be offered to ferry visitors to the official viewing spots.

The Cuyahoga Valley National Park located in the south of Cleveland is also expecting a surge in traffic. In order to manage this influx, multiple parking lots will be closed from sunset on Sunday to sunrise on Monday. This includes popular spots such as Boston Mill Visitor Center and Pine Hollow.

Advice for Locals and Boom in Business

The park authorities are encouraging the locals to stay home. People are being informed that neighborhoods offer prime viewing spots as well. Businesses located near these parks are also experiencing a surge in activity. Valley Overlook Lodging & Campground in Cuyahoga Valley National Park, has been fully booked for months. It is receiving visitors from across the country flocking in to witness the eclipse.

People are not just going to crowd the grounds for this spectacle. Many major airlines will be operating domestic and international flights to let the passengers view the once-in-a-lifetime solar eclipse. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) warns that airports and the skies are going to be busier than usual not just during the eclipse but during the spring break holiday as well.

As the day of the total solar eclipse has arrived, it is crucial for the visitors to heed the advice of the park authorities. This will help them plan their trips to ensure a memorable and safe experience amidst the celestial spectacle.
