15 Most Beautiful Places in Vietnam

Vietnam has an abundance of breathtaking natural wonders, vibrant cities, and charming cultural sites. Here are my top picks for the most beautiful places to visit in Vietnam!

1. Hanoi

I spent most of my childhood in Hanoi, soaking in the rich culture and bustling atmosphere, so this city holds a very special place in my heart.

One of the things that I love most about Hanoi is the food. From the famous pho noodle soup to the delicious banh mi sandwiches, the flavors and aromas of Hanoi’s cuisine are unmatched. Every meal is an opportunity to discover something new, and I have fond memories of exploring the city’s many markets and street food stalls with friends and family.

For a unique cultural experience, make sure to visit the Water Puppet Theater, where you can watch traditional Vietnamese puppet performances that date back centuries. The colorful puppets dance across a pool of water, accompanied by traditional Vietnamese music and storytelling, creating an unforgettable and mesmerizing experience.

Beyond the food, Hanoi is steeped in history and tradition. The city has been the capital of Vietnam for over a thousand years, and its streets are lined with ancient temples, pagodas, and historic landmarks. And there’s always something new to discover in Hanoi.

As you wander through the bustling streets of the Old Quarter, you’ll be transported back in time to the era of French colonialism, with its narrow lanes, traditional architecture, and street vendors selling delicious local cuisine.

As the sun sets, the vibrant Hanoi nightlife scene comes to life. Whether you’re in the mood for the bustling beer corners and street food stalls or prefer the more upscale bars serving fancy craft cocktails inspired by local cuisine, Hanoi has something for everyone to enjoy.

And if you’re a food lover like me, don’t miss the opportunity to take a cooking class in Hanoi and learn to make some of Vietnam’s iconic dishes.

Hanoi is known for its rich culinary traditions and street food, and a cooking class will give you a deeper appreciation and understanding of the local cuisine.

If you’re planning a visit to Ha Long Bay, I highly recommend taking a two-day/one-night Ha Long Bay cruise.

While I have done the day cruise on Ha Long Bay many times before, it wasn’t until spending two days and one night on a Ha Long Bay Cruise that I felt truly immersed in nature and truly appreciated the sights.

The two-day cruise includes transfer, kayaking, cave and island tours, and meals, making it a hassle-free and comprehensive way to explore this stunning region. With the extra time, you’ll have the chance to discover the unique highlights of Halong Bay, Lan Ha Bay, or Bai Tu Long Bay.

From Sung Sot Cave and Titop Island in Halong to Cat Ba Island and Dark and Bright Cave in Lan Ha, and Floating Village in Bai Tu Long, the natural wonders of the region are endless.
