We stayed at The Westin Valencia with kids in April 2022. We stayed with kids ages 9 and 8 years and our baby of 10 months. We took Grandma with us too for our trip this time. Here is our full The Westin Valencia Review.
Family friendly accommodation in Valencia
The location of The Westin Valencia is perfect for a city break in Valencia with kids. It’s right on the old riverbed where you’ll find Turia Gardens. This space is the perfect route to get around the city on bike or on foot. It’s not to far from the old town either.
You can cycle to the aquarium Oceanographic at one end of city to the BIOPARC (A fabulous zoo) at the other end. The BIOPARC is slightly harder work as it’s further and slightly uphill all the way. It’s a gorgeous cycle back though. There are also a number of play areas within a short walk of the hotel (in the Turia Gardens) and the metro which takes you straight to the airport is around a 5 minute walk away. This makes it easy to travel by public transport if you don’t have a car seat available to get a taxi. Valencia taxis are very strict regarding car seats for every child and infant under 135 cm tall!
The Westin is a grand building with a beautifully planted courtyard where you can have breakfast, dinner or just stop by for drinks. There is no outdoor pool but there an indoor pool in the spa/gym area and children are allowed to use the pool for most of the day.
Hotel with interconnecting rooms in Valencia
Interconnecting rooms are so helpful for a larger family. They give everyone their own space while making sure you can keep tabs on all of the children through the night. It’s not always easy to figure out if a hotel offers them though and you usually have to confirm with the hotel directly that you will be allocated them.
I booked interconnecting rooms at The Westin Valencia. There’s an option of the regular or larger rooms. I only booked regular and we had a lot of space. The large rooms must be huge!

Rich, baby and I were given an accessible room which meant the actual bedroom was slightly smaller because the bathroom and toilet were a little larger to allow wheelchair access. The girls were in a twin and they had LOADS of space.
There is a separate bathroom and toilet for each room plus a nice dressing area with ample storage for clothes, nappies and even the buggy.

Restaurants in The Westin Valencia Review
I love the Art Deco style interiors in the bar and restaurants.
The Jardi Bar was a lovely place to unwind with a cava or G&T in the evening while feeding the baby his tea. The staff were very helpful and were happy to heat up the baby food we had with us. High chairs were readily available everywhere in the hotel. For a hotel bar in the middle of a city we found it to be very reasonably priced too.
We ate our dinner in the Jardi bar one evening and had a very good paella. As we experienced with every meal in Valencia the portion sizes were huge. We ordered paella for 2 people with the intention of sharing it between 3 adults and 1 child. We only just managed to eat it all!
The Japanese restaurant in the hotel, Komodo, has excellent reviews as well. We never made it because it doesn’t open until 8:30pm! Not an ideal time for tired kids.
Breakfast is served in a separate restaurant in a buffet style. There was a fabulous selection of hot and cold breakfast options. The breakfast room is bright with the characteristic art deco interior design. Our only complaint about the breakfast was that they did not provide hot plates. This meant that our eggs often went cold very quickly.
Other facilities
Hiring bikes and cycling is a must when in Valencia and The Westin has a bike park in the car park beneath the hotel. It’s also worth knowing that while you can have bikes delivered to the hotel, there is a big charge for that service. You can walk to PIU bikes within 5 minutes and hire bikes there for around €10 per day, including locks and children’s helmets. They also have baby seats for bikes.
