Best Time to Travel? The best time to visit Trincomalee is January to September and December. You can generally expect the most rain here in October and November, leading to a few showers daily. The months of January, February and December do have the best temperatures. It is then around 30 degrees. In the remaining months, it can even average 35 degrees.

How many days? You go to Trincomalee mainly for the beautiful beaches. Especially in the north, near Nilaveli, you’ll find some lovely beaches, where you can relax and swim. The city’s historic centre can largely be seen in one day, including the beautiful Fort Frederick and the famous Thirukoneswaram Kovil Temple.
