If you haven’t heard of Artilect up until now it’s OK, I hadn’t either. But if you like your hiking gear to have excellent performance and you like to buy from brands that make a genuine effort to be eco-conscious and sustainable, Artilect is a brand you’ll want to take note of. For the last few weeks, I’ve been testing out the Artilect Halfmoon Pullover, and it’s safe to say that I’m now a big fan of this brand.
Features of the Artilect Halfmoon Pullover
Let’s start with the features. One of the things that caught my eye about the Artilect Halfmoon pullover is that it’s made from 100% recycled PrimaLoft Bio. This highly breathable fabric offers next-to-skin comfort and exceptional bulk-free warmth, making it the ideal mid-layer for hiking. Plus, the fabric is biodegradable in landfill and ocean environments, so you can feel good about your purchase.
The Artilect Halfmoon Bio Pullover also comes with several zipped pockets, which are perfect for securing small valuables on the move. I particularly appreciated the chest pocket, which kept my phone safe and easily accessible.
Performance
But enough about the features, you just want to know how this pullover performed on a real hike. I wore the Artilect Halfmoon Bio Pullover on a recent hiking trip in the Peak District, and I have to say, it did a fantastic job of keeping me warm. Despite the deep snow and freezing cold wind, I stayed comfortable and cosy throughout the entire hike. I wore it as a mid-layer under my Montane Levity Jacket, and the combination was perfect for the conditions. I was never too hot on the uphill stretches, and never too cold on the top of a wind-swept summit.
I was also impressed by the versatility of this pullover. It’s stylish enough to wear as a standalone piece on milder days and functional enough to layer up for colder adventures. And speaking of style, I have to mention the colour options. The Artilect Halfmoon Bio Pullover comes in three colours, and while I wouldn’t usually choose red, I have to say, I really liked the brick colour option that I was sent to try out.
