Aquaplanet Pace SUP Review

As someone who loves getting out on the water, I’m always on the lookout for new gear that can enhance my experiences. That’s why I was excited to try out the Aquaplanet Pace Paddle Board. This inflatable board promised to be lightweight, stable, and versatile, making it suitable for all levels of riders, from beginners to experts. I’ve had the board for a few months now and I can safely say that it exceeded my expectations.

Features of the Aquaplanet Pace SUP

The Aquaplanet Pace Paddle Board comes with several features that make it stand out from other boards on the market. First, it has a non-slip deck pad that provides excellent traction and comfort, even when wet. Second, it has a removable fin that helps with tracking and stability in the water. Third, it has a bungee storage area at the front of the board, which is convenient for carrying gear, such as a waterproof bag filled with supplies for a long day of paddling.

Stability

The board is aimed at beginners who are looking to advance their skills towards touring, and as such, the board finds a good balance between stability and manoeuvrability.

Boards for complete beginners are often very wide and slow to manoeuvre, whereas boards for tourers are quick and nimble, but not quite as stable for beginners. The Aquaplanet Pace is somewhere between the two, in the best possible way. It might take you a little bit of time to get the hang of it, but once you do, this board will still offer you everything you need for future adventures, and you won’t become frustrated by the lack of agility.

When I first tried the Aquaplanet Pace paddle board, I fell into the river several times. Despite my experience with other beginner boards, I found it challenging to balance on the board at first. However, after a few tries, I got the hang of it and realised that the board was very stable and easy to control. I also appreciated the non-slip deck pad, which made it less slippery when I stood up.

I used the board on the peaceful River Avon in Warwick, where the calm water and scenic surroundings made for a relaxing and enjoyable ride. The board was effortless to paddle, and I could glide smoothly on the water, enjoying the views of the trees and wildlife along the riverbanks.

Portability

The main advantage of an inflatable paddle board is its portability. I had the opportunity to take full advantage of this benefit when I was hiking in the Lake District recently. I brought my paddle board with me in the car, just in case I found time for a quick paddle after tackling the Old Man of Coniston.

Of course, I did find the time. When I saw a spot to pull over at the side of the road, on the edge of Coniston, I carried the board down to the water’s edge and fully inflated it in less than 10 minutes. With the board ready, I was finally able to fulfil a childhood dream and paddle over to Peel Island, otherwise known as Wild Cat Island from the Swallows and Amazons books.

The board performed well in the open water of the lake, and I only wished I had more time to explore.

What’s Included in the Bundle

The Aquaplanet Pace paddle board bundle comes with everything you need to get started on the water. In addition to the board itself, the package includes a high-pressure pump, a collapsible paddle, a coiled leash, a repair kit, and a backpack for storage and transportation. The pump inflates the board in a few minutes, and the paddle is adjustable, making it suitable for riders of different heights.

Aquaplanet Pace Pros and Cons

Like any product, the Aquaplanet Pace paddle board has its pros and cons, based on my experience using it. Here are some of them:

  • Stable and easy to balance on
  • Non-slip deck pad for better traction
  • Removable fin for improved tracking
  • Bungee storage area for carrying gear

Cons

  • The backpack is a bit small and can be tight when packing the board
