While I was taking my Guided Tour in Genova and exploring all the attractions in Genova, I asked my guide what is something which I should do more so that I will fall in love with Genova.

I had already completed my three days in La Spezia and was nearing to my completion of my Italian Riviera Itinerary.

She suggested me to just take a bus and visit the Boccadasse Region of Genova which is around 38 minutes by public transport from Genova city center and the rest is history.

How to reach Boccadasse from Genova?

Public Transport

The best or cheapest way to reach Boccadasse if you already have a public transport pass is by Bus or Train. It will cost you around 2 Euro ( in 2024) and you can reach the Boccadasse stop in less than 30 minutes if you are lucky.

Quick Tip: You can not buy bus ticket in the Buses in Genova so you will have to download the AMT Genova application on your phone to buy the tickets from phone if not from vending machine.

Reaching to Boccadasse by Renting a Car

If you are planning to rent a car in Genova or If you already have a rented car in Genova then you can also drive to Boccadasse which is going to take around 13 or 15 minutes max.

I would personally recommend you to take the Corso Italia route to Genova because you will get see some stunning views during the route compared to the city routes.

Where to Stay in Boccadasse?

I stayed in Genova because I wanted to explore more around Genova and then since it was pretty easy to to travel to Boccadasse from Genova I skipped my stay here in Boccadasse and I would personally recommend you to try the same thing.

You can make use of the map above to Book your stay in Genova. I personally stayed next to the Galata Maritime Museum which was closed to the Piazza Principe Train Station of Genova and I could walk easily to the city center and the old town of Genova.

When is the best time to visit Boccadasse?

Peak tourism is from June through August, when the weather is at its best and the beaches are busy. For a quieter experience, we recommend visiting during the shoulder season in spring (April to May) or fall (September to October).

What to do in Boccadasse?

So let me be very clear about the Italian Riviera and the villages which you will be exploring during your complete Italian Riviera Itinerary.

You are not going to watch some crazy big attractions which you can name, it is mostly about the beauty of the villages and getting lost in the alleys and enjoying the view of the ocean.
