3. Memorial Park

The Presbyterian Church acquired the property from Amos Wickersham in 1775 to be used as a burial ground, school, and church. Initially, it served as a burial ground.

On May 31st, 1909, a 73-foot stone obelisk honoring Civil War veterans was dedicated. It can be seen today. Since then, additional monuments honoring the First and Second World Wars, as well as the Vietnam War, have been added.

5. Tee-to-Green Golf Center

In Danville, there is a lovely little golf course that is easily accessible from US 11. If you are traveling south, keep an eye out for the flag & miniature golf course on the right side of the road, which indicates the gravel access road to their parking lot and a little bridge crossing a drainage ditch.

7. Point Drive-In

Three different screens, each showing a double feature, are available at this drive-in. The price was $8 for grownups and $4 for kids. The heyday of this location is long passed. 

Three screens inside a sizable grassy area make up the theater, which also has a dilapidated ticket booth/snack bar. You watch the movie on any of the 3 FM stations they employ on your portable radio or vehicle. There isn’t any speaker stand, so you may park anywhere.

This place is commonly referred to as the “rec” or the DACC by everyone. Everyone can find something to do at their facilities, including infants, kids, teenagers, & adults. 

If it is your first time visiting Danville Area Community Center, you won’t have to pay because the first visit is always free; if you’ve never been there, all you have to do is tell the person working the front desk that you are new and you want to try them out. 

They will be happy to offer you a tour, demonstrate how you can use the exercise equipment, let you sample a workout class, or let you swim. 

Please call them at 275-3001 to let them know you are coming for them to make arrangements to have someone there to assist you whenever you get there. 

The Danville Area Community Center is home to Montour County’s only heated indoor pool! It has six lanes and twenty-six thousand square feet! 

A large-scale gymnasium, Lawn Tennis Court Innovative Fitness Equipment Classes in Wellness cycling school, Preschool/Nursery Room meeting space, and a lot more!
