There’s a good chance that you’ll find something to like at Universal Orlando Resort, whether you’re visiting with young children, teenagers, friends, or your significant other. In addition to two theme parks, this expansive entertainment complex also houses Universal CityWalk, a pedestrian mall with stores, eateries, a theater, and nightclubs.

The Simpsons Attraction and the 3-D Despicable Me Minion Mayhem ride may be found at the original park, Universal Studios Florida, while the “Jurassic Park”-themed rides and activities at Universal’s Islands of Adventure are among the park’s other highlights. There is also a water park, called Volcano Bay at Universal.

But the Harry Potter sections of Universal Orlando’s parks are its biggest lure. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley can be found in Universal Studios Florida. Here, you can eat at the Leaky Cauldron, escape from Gringotts, and have your wand picked at Ollivanders. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade, which features the Three Broomsticks, Hogwarts, and Hagrid’s cottage, is also located at Universal’s Islands of Adventure.

Many visitors cite their experience at Universal Orlando Resort as the high point of their trip to Orlando, despite the fact that they advise that crowds are commonplace here (especially in the Harry Potter areas). Visit on a wet day or during a period when classes are in session to reduce your wait times for rides. Alternatively, if an express pass isn’t already included in your entrance ticket, you can pay extra daily fees for one. These passes, which are available for one park or both, allow you to skip the lines at participating rides a single time or an unlimited number of times.

The International Drive, Orlando International Premium Outlets, and Fun Spot America’s Orlando park are all within a block of the Universal Orlando Resort. You can drive (on-site parking is subject to an extra charge), call a cab, or take the No. 21, 37, or 40 LYNX bus to the Universal Boulevard and Hollywood Way stop to get to the resort grounds. If you stay at a Universal hotel, you can go to Universal CityWalk or any of the theme parks using one of the hotel’s free shuttle buses or water taxis. Both parks have restaurants, grab-and-go food stands, gift shops, and bathrooms.

On the website of the Universal Orlando Resort, single-day tickets for one Universal Orlando park start at $115 for adults and $110 for kids aged 3 to 9. Peak hours do see price increases. There is an extra fee of $55 for a one-day entrance to both parks. When purchasing multiday tickets, further savings are offered. Normally, each theme park is open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., however on some days, additional hours are available. The amenities of Universal CityWalk have varying hours.
