Looking for a unique way to spend a beautiful day in Spokane, Washington?  Spokane has many breathtaking gardens and picture-perfect parks ideal for a morning stroll, a heavenly hike, or to stop and smell the flowers.  1. Finch Arboretum Finch Arboretum | 3404 West Woodland Blvd Spokane WA 99224 The Finch Arboretum is a free Park offering 65 acres of tree-covered landscape alongside Garden Springs Creek.  Screenshot this map of the park to take a self-guided tour of the grounds.  Enjoy oversized rhododendron (my absolute favorite Washington plant) in the summer, Crabapple trees in the fall, Dogwoods in the spring, or a brisk walk among gigantic snow-covered trees in the winter.  The Finch Arboretum offers several places to sit under the trees and read a book or lay on a blanket to soak in the sun.  No pets are allowed in the arboretum, so keep your furry friends at home for this venture. 2. Manito Park Manito Park | 1702 S Grand Blvd, Spokane, WA 99203 Pack a bottle of wine, or a little lunch and head over to Manito Park for a picnic among the flowers.  This is hands down the most well-known and visited garden in Spokane.  Meander your way through Manito Park’s 78 acres of native and cultivated landscape and 20 acres of gorgeous botanical gardens.  Enjoy a duck pond, two playgrounds, a little café, a conservatory, 5 separate gardens, and large grassy fields.  Find a beautiful space to set up your picnic spot, my absolute favorite place to sit down and relax in Manito Park is Rose Hill.  Pets are allowed in all areas of these gardens, aside from the Nishinomiya Tsutakawa Japanese Garden area.  Check out these amazing pictures to see all these gardens have in store for you before your visit. 3. Moore-Turner Heritage Garden Moore-Turner Heritage Garden | 507 West 7th Ave.  Spokane, WA 99201 Want an urban view of the city, among the natural beauty of the flowers, with a majestic mountain backdrop? Look no further: The Moore-Turner Heritage Garden offers all three! Storyboards are located along the paths of the garden.  Take yourself on a tour of the grounds to learn all about what makes this a “heritage” garden.  If learning about a little Spokane history is your thing, this is the gardens for you.  Please keep in mind there is a no food or pets policy at this garden.   4. Riverside Park Riverside Park | 9711 W Charles Rd, Nine Mile Falls, WA 99026 Want to cross over the Spokane river by way of a gigantic, and it bears mentioning a very sturdy wooden bridge? One of the most picturesque hikes in Riverside State Park is the Bowl and Pitcher Loop Trail. The Spokane River tumbles over and past huge basalt formations under a suspension bridge making for fun crossings and river views. Picnic shelters and tables spot the hiking trail or take a minute to sit along the banks of the river. Riverside State Park also offers an option to try out some mountain biking, an off-road vehicle area, and equestrian trails. Grab a water bottle, a couple of snacks, or even a coffee, and get going! 5. Riverfront Park Riverfront Park | 507 N Howard St, Spokane, WA 99201 Spokane’s Riverfront Park, one of the most scenic urban parks, offers over 100 acres to explore. Look over the magnificent Spokane Falls and River by taking a gondola ride or peering over several bridges. Walk in the Expo ’74 U.S. Pavilion, where you can enjoy a light show every evening at dusk. Take pictures of the famous 1902 Clock Tower. Ride the 1909 Looff Carrousel. Playgrounds and splash parks scatter the park. So many things to see and do as you walk around Riverfront Park. 6. Mirabeau Point Park Mirabeau Point Park | 13500 Mirabeau Pkwy, Spokane Valley, WA 99216 Mirabeau Point Park is a 55-acre park with something for everyone, complete with a waterfall.  This is a great place to hop on the Centennial trail and walk along the Spokane River.  This trail, some of which is paved is perfect for biking or scootering.   Explore caves.  Spot wildflowers.  Check out the various hiking trails at Mirabeau Point park on All-trails, my favorite hiking app of all time.  Want to just chill?  Have a picnic lunch on a blanket in the large grassy meadows or by the waterfalls with the turtles basking in the sun and the ducks swimming around the springs. 7. Mount Spokane State Park Mount Spokane State Park | 26107 N Mt Spokane Park Dr., Mead, WA 99021 Mount Spokane is one of Washington’s largest state parks with over 100 miles of forested trails.  The drive to Mount Spokane is a windy, albeit beautiful drive.  If you happen to get motion sick, be sure to keep that in mind before you load up for a day in the mountains.  In the summer drive up to the very top of the mountain, park at the trailhead, and walk just a short way to the Vista House for a panoramic vantage point.  Take in spectacular views of the Spokane Valley, Idaho, and several mountain lakes.
