TOP 10 most beautiful beaches in Croatia

We have created a list of the TOP 10 most beautiful Beaches in Croatia. Some have been in the limelight of world popularity for years, others are wild and romantic and it is best to reach the sea to achieve them. Sandy, pebble and stony, covered by the waters of the Adriatic Sea.

1. Zlatni Rat Beach (Golden Horn)

Zlatni Rat means “Golden Horn” in free translation and is the real queen of Croatian and even European beaches. In all rankings, this pebble beach on the Island of Brač wins first place. You may have already seen it – thanks to its unique appearance, it is on the covers of most catalogs advertising Croatia. Interestingly, depending on the direction of the wind and waves, the beach changes its appearance. From a bird’s eye view, however, it always resembles, especially in the rays of the sun, the shining golden corner.

2. Beach in Prapratna

Although it ranked second in the Top 10 of the most beautiful Croatian beaches, it is the undisputed winner among the sandy beaches. Golden Sand is pleasant to the touch and is located in the south of the Pelješac peninsula, about 6 km from Ston, famous for its longest defensive walls in Europe. The beach is surrounded on three sides by pine and olive trees. Thanks to the gentle descent into the water, it is an ideal place for families and also boasts coastal infrastructure – a beach soccer field or water sports equipment rental.

3. Stiniva beach on the island Vis

It is more difficult to find more romantic scenery – a small pebble beach on the southern tip of the island of Vis is hidden among the rocky cliffs. To get to it, it is best to sail by sea. For those who would like to reach it by land, there is a poorly marked, steep path leading from a high cliff. The road is risky and unpleasant, but the views and intimate atmosphere are breathtaking. You can enjoy them on the sun loungers and enjoy a refreshing drink at the local bar.

4. Paradise beach on the island Rab

The biggest treasure in the Kvarner Bay on the island of Rab is the beach. And not just a beach, but a paradise strip of sand gently covered with the turquoise waters of the Adriatic. As for the beaches containing the word “paradise” in the name, you will find all the facilities needed for a comfortable stay by the sea. Blue Flag swimming pool, bars, restaurants, solariums, water parks, water sports equipment rentals, and volleyball courts – all on the 2 km long beach near the town of Lopar, listed by CNN.

5. Punta Rata beach

Everyone will find the most convincing argument for visiting Punta Rata. The turquoise waters of the Adriatic, the golden color of the stones and the shadow of 100-year-old pine trees proudly emerging from the bare rocks of the local landscape park inspire everyone to take a summer trip to the Brela coast on the Makarska Riviera.

6. Sveti Ivan beach on Cres island

The German magazine Bild ranked Sveti Ivan beach in 15th place among the most beautiful beaches in the world. Few people go to the beach. It is surrounded by cliffs. The road here leads either by sea or by land on steep paths leading from the town of Loubenica. There is no promenade, attraction, restaurant, or shop. You won’t see sunbeds and crowds fighting for the last bit of space on the beach. There is only nature, a shade of Mediterranean vegetation, a sea, and calm.

7. Baska beach on the island Krk

This seemingly inconspicuous town located on the island of Krk is, after closer observation, a paradise for sunbathing. Baška was once a fishing village, located in a unique place – the road led to it through a valley surrounded by high mountains. Today it has become a typical tourist destination. It is especially interesting for its pebble beach with a length of 2 km, which can accommodate up to 5,000 people starving to the sun (although it is usually not so crowded here). The bottom of the azure beach is sandy for a change.

8. Dubovica beach on Hvar island

If you like the scent of lavender, hate the rain, and love wine and olives, be sure to visit the island of Hvar, also known as the “Queen of the Croatian Islands”. Not only is it an ideal place for the thermophilic – the island has been recognized as the warmest and sunniest on the Adriatic, but according to Traveler Magazine, it is also one of the most beautiful islands in the world. There is one of the most beautiful Croatian beaches. A lagoon-like shape, filled with white stones covered with the turquoise waters of the Adriatic Sea. During the day, Dubovica is a mecca of peace and relaxation for tourists, who then have the opportunity to explore the entertainment attractions of Hvar at night, about 8 km away.

9. Kamenjak beaches

Beautiful beaches on the southernmost tip of Istria are the wildest in our ranking. The 200-kilometer-long, gently rugged coast of Cape Kamenjak is a real testament to the creativity of mother nature. Here you will find bays and islands and almost 80 km of rocky beaches covered with emerald waters of the Adriatic. Each of them could be the most beautiful in itself. Less gratifying is the information that the very interior of the peninsula is overgrown with wild plants and herbs and access to the beaches is all the more complicated.

10. Zrće beach on the island Pag

This resort in the northeastern part of the island of Pag near Novalja is often called the Croatian Ibiza. No other place in Croatia can you find so many pubs and clubs as here – parties with DJs in clubs like Aquarius or Papaya last from 4 pm until dawn. After a sleepless night, it pays to recharge your batteries in the sun on the Blue Flag Zrce beach – there is no natural shade, which makes the beach one of the brightest points on the map of Croatia.
