9. The 9/11 Flight Crew Memorial

The 9/11 Flight Crew Memorial was built on July 4, 2008, in Grapevine to remember those who lost their lives.

About twenty years ago, thirty-three airline employees, three hundred and forty-three firefighters, two thousand, nine hundred and seventy-seven civilians, and seventy-one law enforcement officers lost their lives.

Dean Thompson built the 9/11 Flight Crew Memorial; the bronze sculpture features a make attendant wrapping a blanket around a little girl holding a teddy bear, which exemplifies the traveling passengers, and four 14-foot-tall airline employees.

You will also find the name of those who died on 9/11 carved around the granite base; the sculpture is also on the eastern edge of Grapevine at 1000 Texas trail as a constant reminder.

More than two thousand six hundred artifacts were preserved according to the Port Authority of New York and has been spread to at least one thousand, six hundred locations globally.
