Al Pellegrino Pizzeria Gradisca d’Isonzo

Robert mentioned that there is a world-champion pizzaiolo (pizza chef) in Gradisca d’Isonzo. So when we went to the Udinese game we stopped there along our way. After some searching, we parked in front of the hotel with a Pizzeria. We had a table reservation, staff was a bit confused. Finally, we got to our table in a room that had a nice interior.

Now it was time to choose pizza. I took bresaola-dried beef with arugula, parmesan, and burrata cheese. Robert took traditional capricciosa (mozzarella cheese, Italian baked ham, mushroom, artichoke, and pelati tomato). Andrej opted for one with prosciutto San Daniele and Blaž one with mortadella. The dough was Napoli style. I put some pepperoncini olive oil on. We had Kozel beer as our drink.

The pizza was good and tasty with fresh ingredients. But still, I didn’t feel like I ate it from the World champion chef. We paid 114 € for 4 pizzas and 8 beers (5 € one) with copert (cover charge). Nevertheless, it is a nice place to stop for pizza if you are in the area.
