This post is so overdue, it is not even funny. Let’s see if I can still remember anything from this trip.
Dinner and packing
Ferry to Gozo
We took the ferry from Cirkewwa to Gozo, so first we had to get an Uber to get to Cirkewwa. The ferry crossing takes about 30 minutes, and it takes about 45 minutes by car to Cirkewwa from Sliema. There is plenty of seating on the ferry and a convenience shop where you can buy almost anything from snacks, food and drinks to cosmetics and souvenirs. After arriving in Gozo we took an Uber to our hotel. I had booked a room for us at Provacario in the old town of Victoria. We arrived early so we dropped off our bags at the hotel and set out to explore Victoria. Once we got the message that our room was ready we got settled at the hotel. After relaxing and getting cleaned up we headed to dinner at Qbajjar Restaurant. We kicked off dinner with an Antipasto Misto di Salumi e Formaggi. For my main, I ordered king prawns fried in garlic and herb oil, flamed with brandy and hubby opted for grilled seabass with olives, cherry tomatoes and basil. It was a tasty dinner and we left full and happy.
Cittadella and visiting some friends
The next day we visited the Cittadella also known as the Castello. The area has been inhabited since the Bronze Age, and the site now occupied by the Cittadella is believed to have been the acropolis of the Punic-Roman city of Gaulos or Glauconis Civitas. After exploring the Cittadella we took an Uber to a friend’s house in the village of Għasri and spent a few hours admiring their home, chatting and lounging in the garden. It was nice to be able to visit an authentic local house but unfortunately, I didn’t take any pictures. Our friend gave us a ride back to Victoria and then it was time for us to prepare for our private sunset Boat Tour.

I had booked the boat Tour through Viator. We brought some snacks and drinks with us and came prepared with bathing suits and towels. Our first stop was the Blue Lagoon in Comino where we swam and relaxed. Then we headed to the caves of Comino and I even went cave exploring with our guide. We drove around in the boat and finally landed at the spot where we were going to admire the sunset. We took another plunge in the water while waiting for the sunset and saw some amazing fish. Once the sun started setting the guide took us a little further out as there were some party boats around. The sunset was magnificent, and we really enjoyed the entire tour. Once the sun had set, we headed back to port and the tour was over. This was a truly amazing experience and well worth the money.
