Jonna Jinton is a Swedish creator and artist, who might change your life perspective entirely. She has inspired me so much since the day I started following her videos. In this post, we look at 5 life lessons that we can learn from Jonna Jinton!
About Jonna Jinton
Jonna has amassed a large following on youtube and social media by posting beautiful videos from the rural parts of northern Sweden. She shares stunning Swedish landscapes and nature while showing us the rural life of people around her home. She lives in the Nordic Village of Grundtjärn in the north of Sweden.
Her village and the Swedish wilderness is her inspiration and it forms part of her several art forms. Jonna is an artist, painter, cinematographer, and she also owns her jewellery line. But it wasn’t always like this for her. Jonna lived and worked in Gothenberg city, before moving to her ancestral village. She has been living here for more than 10 years now.

1. Living in tune with the nature
Jonna lived in the city before and absolutely hated it. In her videos, Jonna mentions how shifting back to this rural village of Sweden has helped her to be in tune with nature. She drives her energy and inspiration from the changing seasons and the nature around Grundtjärn village. Her energy is so positive and calming in every video. The way she gets excited about collecting berries in autumn, the one hour of sunshine she gets in winter, the arrival of spring, and her happiness of the full-blown summer (mosquitoes included) is amazing to watch!
Living in the city we often get disconnected from the nature around us. And while it may not be possible to completely move to a village, we must still take time to appreciate the beauty of the changing seasons and the nature that is around us.
2. Going back to the roots
Jonna grew up and studied in Gothenberg. But she moved back to the village of Grundtjärn in northern Sweden. Why this particular village? Well, Jonna’s mom was born here. And her ancestors up to 12 generations lived here at the same village. No wonder, she was pulled back to her roots and felt like she belongs here.
Often people in the villages look forward to moving to the cities, for better work opportunities and luxurious living. Jonna Jinton has really proved to us that it is now possible to run a successful business from any little corner of the world. The internet has really changed everything and bought us a host of new possibilities.
3. Enjoying the simple things in life
In each and every shot of her videos, Jonna gives us a thoughtful message. She tries to find meaning in everything she does and encourages us to be mindful and live a meaningful life. You will feel extremely close to nature, due to the high quality and beauty of her videos. And inside every video, Jonna gives us the message of enjoying the simplest things in life. She herself gets excited about the little things like the sunrise and sunsets, the crackling sound of lake-ice in winter, the immense power of waterfalls and the northern lights.
4. Good things take time
Jonna Jinton is running a successful online business tucked far away in some beautiful corner of the world. This might feel like a dream you, and her videos specifically make it look like a dreamy world. But it wasn’t always so easy for her. When she moved to Grundtjärn village, she did not have a house with running water or warmth. She worked really hard to figure out the things and find out her way to where she is right now. She built this business over a long period of more than 10 years, with persistence and without giving up. Good things take time, effort and persistence.
5. It wont always be easy
Jonna Jinton’s world with deers, mountains, northern lights, changing seasons and midnight sun, may seem like a dream holiday. Her extremely dreamy videos have made us all envy her lifestyle. But it is not easy at all. Jonna’s home is in a tiny village, far away from any civilization. They have to drive for hours to a nearby town just to get groceries. In the winters, it is difficult to keep the house warm. In her own words, ‘It is like a full-time job just to get the heat going all day.’ And when she sells her products, they have to drive and take them to a nearby town to ship them off to the buyers. So it is not very easy to live this life, but it is well worth it.
