Sea view holiday home in Malvan is the perfect place to have a relaxing seaside holiday. I felt as if I was in a paradise, from the moment I reached this homestay at Chivla Beach. While the continuous soundtrack of the sea waves was soothing my nerves, the wide expanse of the Arabian sea uplifted my mood. And the several water sports around here add a sense of adventure to the air.
When people think about a beach holiday within Maharashtra, the first thought is of course Tarkarli in Malvan. But in this post, I am about to share a special place that is located at the Chivla Beach in Malvan. I was supposed to stay here for a day, but I ended up extending my stay so that I could have my heart full with this place.
This is day 9 and 10 from my 21 days solo trip across western Maharashtra.
Chivla beach in Malvan
There are several beaches in Malvan apart from the most popular Tarkarli. And Chivla beach is one such small, pretty and quiet beach. In case you are wondering, it is in Malvan itself, around 15 minutes to the north of everyone’s favourite Tarkarli. Chivla beach is closer to the Sindhudurg fort of Malvan. And the best place for an epic sunset near this beach is the Chivla beach rock garden.

Just like the name promises, this pretty homestay is right next to the beach. There is literally a small cement road in between the beach and the house. And this homestay is located in a corner towards the end of Chivla beach. It is far away from the crowds, as most of the people hang out at the other end of this beach. So the beach next to this homestay is just like your own private beach.
The owner Mr John is quite gracious. And the whole coastline of the Chivala beach is visible clearly from the common dining area inside this homestay. My mornings here started with a nice cup of coffee in my hand, while I watched the fishermen casting their fishing nets far away in the ocean. And my nights ended with the continuous melody of the sea waves.
The only issue I faced here was Jio internet does not work inside the room or in the homestay. You have to literally get down on the beach to get the internet. The owner also provides wifi, but it has similar issues. Apart from that the rooms are quiet comfortable, but hot water for bathing is only available in the mornings.
Food at Sea view holiday home in Malvan
They serve delicious homemade breakfast, lunch and dinner at this homestay. But only non-vegetarian food is made in the house as they are a Christian family. Seafood lovers will definitely enjoy their stay here. They cook everything in the authentic Malvani taste. And for the vegetarians, they order food from the nearby vegetarian restaurants, as required. Personally, I found the food situation to be a little difficult for me as I am a vegetarian. The place is more like a home rather than a resort. So they just serve what they cook in the family. If you are a really strict vegetarian, you may be uncomfortable here.
Bike Rentals, water sports and boat rides
As I was travelling around Maharashtra just by public transport, I did not have a bike with me. And to travel around the several places in Malvan you must have your own vehicle. Mr John – the owner of this homestay, personally helped me to get a rented bike in Malvan. And it was delivered to me at the homestay, the night before I wanted to go exploring around. If you want to have fun doing some water sports around this beach, you can ask him and he will connect you with the right people. Also the same, if you want to go on some boat rides around Malvan. The boating people have some packages, in which they include a few points in the ocean all around Malvan.
