Kurseong is a small Hill Station. Its really small and being a hilly town, there are many narrow paths going here and there ( up & down ). The main road i.e the Hill Cart road that we arrive from Siliguri continues up to Darjeeling ahead, so does the Toy-train that accompanies us all the way from the plains. The climate of Kurseong is pleasant throughout the year.

The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, famous as the Toy Train ( known for its famous whistle ), carries passengers between New Jalpaiguri and Darjeeling, halting at Kurseong. Its too cute!

After my Dow Hill visit, I took a sumo and left Kurseong. I didn't really hang around to see other attractions ( there are quite a few others, I'm told ), so, the town pics are what I captured while arriving to and going from the town...
Kurseong ~ Kharsang ~ the 'Land of White Orchids', is a city and a municipality in Darjeeling district in the Indian state of West Bengal. Located at an altitude of 1,458 metres, Kurseong is 32 kilometres from Darjeeling and has a pleasant climate throughout the year. It is famous for its orchid gardens, forested hills, tea plantations, waterfalls, temples and Buddhist gompas apart from the excellent vistas. Kurseong is also home to a death road, headless ghost, haunted school, haunted buildings, mysterious forests, sinister treks, red eyes, mysterious deaths, ghost of a woman wearing grey running after people, whispers in the wind, screams of women and countless other real ghost stories ( wiki ).
