Countries Open for Tourism 2021

Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, most countries have closed their borders for travel to safeguard their citizen’s well being. Non essential travels Including tourism, vacation and holidays have been cancelled. However, there is a light at the end of the tunnel; many countries have started opening up with limits and restrictions.

The countries listed below are those opening for tourism with careful measures, Quarantine procedures, and restrictions based on the severity of the origin country the travellers. The list is based on alphabetical orders and not based on the restrictions.

ALBANIA

Status: Open for all countries including UK, US, Australia & Canada

Quarantine Status: Health screening upon arrival at the destination Airport including temperature scan

Open: Museum and Beaches

Internal Status: Mass Gathering is prohibited. Preschool and Kindergartens are open.

Major Airports: Tirana, Kukes International Airport

Airlines: Albawings, Air Albania

Tourist Attraction: Albanian Riviera, BunkArt in Tirana, UNESCO town of Gjirokaster, Berat – the city of a Thousand Windows, The old city of Kruja, Porto Palermo Castle, Lively Saranda.

ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA

QUARANTINE: Mandatory 14 days quarantine is required. Travellers are required to present a negative covid-19 test and undergo airport screening including temperature checks.

ATTRACTIONS: Tourist attractions, Heritage Hotel, Hodges bay resort and other resort like Nonsuch Bay Resort is open for visitors.

AIRPORT: V.C Bird International Airport

TOURISM ATTRACTION: Half Moon Bay, Stingray City, Mile Beach, Dickenson Bay, Nelson Dockyard National Park, St John’s, Devil’s Bridge, Museum of Antigua and Barbuda, Fig Tree Drive, Frigate Bird Sanctuary, Darby Cave, Martello Tower.


ARMENIA

QUARANTINE STATUS: Armenia is open for international Tourist including travel from UK, US, Canada and Australia. Passengers are required to present a negative covid 19 test result upon arrival. Whoever does not have tested can be tested during arrival in the destination airport. Traveller without test will be required to quarantine for 14 days.

TOURIST ATTRACTION: Most hotels and attractions have reopened including the Gehard Monastery, Republic Square and Garni Temple. The unforgettable attractions in Armenia are Yerevan, Shikahogh State Reserve, Lake Sevan, Dilijan National Park, Mount Aragats, Lake Arpi, Noravank, Gyumri, Vanadzor, Ambert Fortress, Tsaghkadzor, Upper Azat Valley, Karahunj Observatory, Khor Virap and Dvin.

AIRPORTS: Yerevan, Shirak Airport

AIRLINES:  Armenia Air Company, Armenian Airways, Atlantis Armenian Airways


IRELAND

STATUS: Ireland is open for international travel including US and Canada. There are certain restrictions for travel from Italy, Spain, Iran and China.

QUARANTINE: For travel within the UK, there is no mandatory Covid test or Quarantine.

TOURIST ATTRACTION: National Parks and Nature Reserves are open with restrictions (Campfires not allowed and social distancing to be maintained). Bars and Nightclubs are closed momentarily.

Major Attractions are Cliffs of Moher, Grafton Street Dublin, Killarney National Park, Muckross House and Gardens, The book of Kells and Trinity College, Killmainham Gaol, The Ring of Kerry, Glendalough, Powerscourt House and Gardens, The Little Museum of Dublin, The Rock of Cashel, Blarney Castle, Kinsale, The Dingle Peninsula, St Stephen’s Green, Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, The English Market and The Aran Islands.

Airport: Dublin, Shannon, Cork Airport, Belfast


MEXICO

BORDER STATUS: The US-Mexico border still remains closed but open for other countries including Canada, United Kingdom and Australia.

QUARANTINE: 14 Days Quarantine is not mandatory but there will be health and temperature screening at the arrival airport. Traveler need to present valid travel insurance that covers Covid-19.

INTERNAL PROCESS: Mexico is opening up depending on each region and is handled according to the situation of each destination. Mining, manufacture and construction is also under the exemption of essential work.

Tourist Attractions: Monte Alban, San Miguel De Allende, Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve, Great Pyramid of Cholula, El Malecon, Uxmal, Zipolite, Museo Nacional De Antropologia, El Tajin, San Ignacio Lagoon, Bonampak Murals, Isla Mujeres, Santa Prisca Church, Acapulco Cliff Divers, Cenote Dos Ojos, Catedral Metropolitana,  Guanajuato, Dias Des Los Muertos, Cozumel, El Arco, Palenque, Copper Canyon, Tulum, Chichen Itza and Teotihuacan.

Airports: Mexico City International, Cancun, Guadalajara, Monterrey, Tijuana, Los Cabos International, Leon.


NETHERLANDS

OPEN STATUS: Netherlands is open for international travel including the United States, UK, Australia and Canada.

QUARANTINE: Travelers are required to undergo screening at the airport that includes scan and temperature check.

TOURIST ATTRACTIONS: Ann Frank House is open to public with restrictions on social distancing and face mask. The major attraction in the Netherlands are Jordaan and Amasterdam’s Canals, Keukenhof, Rijksmuseum, Ann Frank House, Van Gogh Museum, The windmills of Kinderdijk, De Hoge Veluwe National Park, The Ljsselmeer, Delta Works, Historic Valkenburg and De Haar Castle.

AIRPORTS: Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Eindhoven Airport, Maastricht Aachen
