Tips for travel in Singapore

Sensational Singapore is waiting for you!

BKB Holidays are the specialists to speak to when planning your holidays in Australia and overseas.

One of our favourite destinations is Singapore. Located off the southern coast of Malaysia, Singapore is a futuristic urban centre rich with unique experiences and is a place you are sure to fall in love with!

Singapore has something for everyone, and whether you are spending one day, one week or one month in Singapore, there’s plenty to see and do.

The list of attractions in Singapore is endless, but here’s our Top 5 “Must Dos” when you visit Singapore.

Spend the day at Gardens by the Bay

Gardens by the Bay spans a total of 101 hectares of prime land at the heart of Singapore’s new downtown, Marina Bay. The area comprises three different garden zones and showcases horticulture and garden artistry that cannot be seen anywhere else. There’s always something blooming in the Gardens and you will be delighted with all the unusual plants from around the world that you can see in the cooled conservatories.

Head up to the Sands Skypark Observation Deck

Put aside your fear of heights, this one is a must! The SkyPark Observation Deck is 56 storeys up from the heart of the Marina Bay area and offers panoramic vistas of the whole city. There is a lot to take in, so plan to spend some time on the deck. In the evening, the SkyPark Observation Deck offers a spectacular view of Spectra, a nightly outdoor light and water show which features dazzling lasers beams overhead and fountain jets over the water.

Ride the Cable Car

The Singapore Cable Car is a gondola lift providing an aerial link from main island to the resort island of Sentosa across the harbour. It has more than 100 cabins and spans almost 5 kilometres. Your ride on the Cable Car Sky Network means you will get a 360-degree aerial and visual treat of the entire Sentosa Harbour-front skyline and the resort island. The scenery transforms as you move along, from the forest, through a skyscraper, over the harbour and across the jungle, sand, and sea.

Have a drink or meal on the Singapore Flyer

Singapore is all about getting you up in the air, and the Singapore Flyer is another must-see attraction. Standing at 165 metres tall, this contemporary, hi-tech building is an urban architectural masterpiece. The views from the top are spectacular, and the dining experience is second to none. Indulge in a flute of champagne or the iconic Singapore Sling whilst hosted in a special themed capsule. For a luxurious dining option, go for the Premium Sky Dining Flight, complete with a four-course dinner and an in-flight host.

Take a Bike Tour!

There’s no better way than a bike tour to see how a city fits together. Take a bike tour through Singapore and discover the city’s fascinating history. A half day tour will take you approximately 20km through gentle terrain, so it’s perfect for all ages and abilities. Take in all the landmarks: Singapore River, Marina Bay, the colonial-era post office, and City Hall. Along the way, enjoy local snacks and drinks at a typical coffee shop.

Are you ready for a sensational Singapore escape?

Singapore is the ideal destination for all ages and is particularly welcoming to young families. To plan your Singapore trip and to experience something new, speak to the team at BKB Holidays on 1300 357 057 or [email protected]
