Novotel Barossa: amazing location right in between the nature, peaceful and quiet atmosphere, nice pool area, good restaurant with nice buffet breakfast (all you need to start the day), when booking room for elderly people or for guests with mobility issues it is best to request a room nearby reception as a lot of walking is involved depending where your room is (plus side, every room offers a view of the forest/bush).

Discovery Holiday Parks – Lake Bonney: perfect lake location, family-friendly, huge range of water sports  (swimming, sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, kayaking, skiing, jet skiing, boating, fishing), many walking and hiking trails close by, spacious cabins, clean and well-equipped.

The Frames – Site Inspection: located in Riverland, about 3 hours’ drive from Adelaide,  three private retreats, beautifully furnished and decorated, great views overlooking the Murray River, each retreat has its’ own style, heated pool, spa and sauna. Generous breakfast provisions are included, personal chef available, private and exclusive experiences can be added (Eco cultural tour of Calperum Station to experience the wetlands/ecosystem / Flavour Safari introduces you to local business owners and their produce), all in all great experience for a special occasion or just to feel spoilt once in a while.

Vasse Virgin – Natural Perfumery Workshop: located at Seppeltsfield Wines (Barossa Valley), Vasse Virgin produces all-natural handmade skin and body care products, perfumery workshop gives you the opportunity to create your own natural essential oil perfume, knowledgeable instructor, very informative masterclass where you get to take home your own perfume, great alternative activity in the Barossa Valley if you don’t want to explore wineries only.

Yalumba – Unlocked Experience: Australia’s oldest family owned winery with lots of history, expansive grounds and beautiful gardens, has an operational on-site cooperage, the Yalumba Unlocked Experience gives you a great behind the scenes look, you will learn about the history of Yalumba and Barossa Valley, see the iconic Signature Cellar (Yalumba employees get a wine in their honour each year) and walk through the old wine tanks underground (which is now a tasting/functions room), concluding in nice wine tasting.

Banrock Station Wine and Wetland Centre – Wetland Walk: located in the Riverland region, much more than just a winery, ideal setting to enjoy great wine, regional produce/food and panoramic views of the wetland, very informative walking tour through the wetland, Banrock is partnering with Landcare Australia to plant natives trees and shrubs creating habitats for Australian wildlife, lots of birdlife and wildlife spotting, we experienced the wetland in dry condition and were able to walk through the shrubs but depending on the rainfall and time of the year you might experience it flooded and get a completely different view, well worth the visit (and re-visit to see it in different conditions).

Murray River Trails: offer 4 day and 3 day adventures, guided walks along the creeks and wetlands of Murray River, accommodation is provided on a modern 5 room houseboat that travels each day to the walking destination, so there is no need to carry your luggage and you get to experience ever changing environments, route/walks are easy to moderate and cover approx. 40km in 3 days, just launched their new houseboat, with ensuite bedrooms and hot showers, big lounge and open kitchen where your guide prepares a three course meal while you share stories and relax with fellow travellers, top deck area offers a lot of space for morning yoga or a dip in the spa. Wonderful way to combine walking tours in comfort.

• Browns Barossa Donuts (Tanunda): great stop on the way to Barossa Valley, delicious donuts and great coffee, all you need for a sweet start in the day.
• The Farm Eatery (Nuriootpa, Barossa Valley): modern, casual eatery with a purpose-built experience centre which hosts a range of cooking school experiences, choose between a 5 course feast menu or a 3 course eat menu and experience the best of local food showcased by talented chefs. Booking for restaurant and experiences highly recommended.
• FermentAsian (Tanunda): modern South East Asian cuisine, the biggest wine list you might have seen!, delicious food and very friendly service, great ambience, recommend to go for tasting menu if you can’t decide.
• Arrosto Coffee (Renmark): absolutely great coffee and nice breakfast, family run coffee roaster & café, situated in the old Renmark fire station.
