People sometimes ask us how we can Afford to Travel as frequently as we do. Until recently most people would not make any income while they are away from home on their travels. With modern possibilities, this does not need to be this way.

The two most important ways we create income while we travel

One of these two ways is, perhaps, a bit obvious. We like sharing our stories and hope to inspire others. In order to do so, we always save a bit of time on our travels to keep a blog. This is more than just a great opportunity for family and friends to follow us while we are away and almost be part of our adventures. At the same time, we are able to create a little bit of extra income through our blogs. Sometimes we get invited by a hotel, bar or restaurant to write a review about them. In exchange, we sleep, eat or drink for free. Sometimes we promote a product that we really like ourselves. When one of our readers decides to buy the product using our link to it, we make a small commission.

The second great opportunity for us is AirBnB. We know it is not for everyone, but we do not mind sharing our apartment with other people while we are not able to use it. Of course, we do not let it out for free. This is a great way to have other people pay for our mortgage while we are away from home. Recently we even have discovered some short rental software to help us increase our game. Since then we have even been able to make more money from letting out our home than the cost of our mortgage.
