History of Zamzam Water:

The story of Zamzam water goes back to the time of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS), who was the beloved Prophet of Allah. Hazrat Sarah (RA) who was the wife of Ibrahim (AS) and they lived in Palestine. They had no child because Sarah (RA) was an old lady and her age was 70 years old while the age of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) was 86 years old. Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) married to Hazrat Hajra (RA) who was a maid of him. So in this way, a child was born in the home of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) which name was Hazrat Ismail (AS) and he was also a Prophet of Allah.

The one time comes there when Allah ordered His Prophet (Ibrahim, AS) to leave his wife and beloved son in the deserts of Makkah, but there was no sign of the city of Makkah at that time. But Allah knew, what will occur there, after some days?

Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) was a Prophet of Allah, it is the duty of a Prophet, to follow the order of Allah. Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) accepted the order of Allah and he went to the deserts of Makkah with his wife and son.

He left the Hazrat Ismail (AS) and Hazrat Hajra (RA) with some food and water. After some time, when the water had ended and Hazrat Ismail (AS) started to weep due to thirst. A mother of any child does not bear when her child weeps for any reason. So Hazrat Hajra (AS) was also a mother, therefore, she wanted to help her child.

Hazrat Hajra (RA) ran between the Mountains of Safa and Marwah in search of water but she was desperate at every passing of a moment. Allah saw everything, how a mother tries to solve the problem of the son. Allah sent the Hazrat Gabriel (AS) to help of her. Hazrat Gabriel (AS) was an angel. Gabriel (AS) came to near Hazrat Ismail (AS) and He struck his wing on earth where Hazrat Ismail (AS) was laid. After the struck, a freshwater emerged there.

So in this way, Hazrat Ismail (AS) drank the water. Hazrat Hajra (RA) said to water Zamzam because the water did not stop to emerge there. Some tribes asked to Hazrat Hajra (RA) to stay there and she allowed to them.

In 771 AD, a dome was built above the well under the Abbasid Caliph Al-Mansur.

In 775 AS, Al-Mahdi rebuilt the well and dome covered with mosaic.

In 835 AS, the dome was again covered with marble under the Al-Mutasim.

When you perform their Umrah then you drink the water of Zamzam after performing Tawaf in Al-Haram mosque. There are separate locations of water for men and women. If you want to drink this holy water then you should perform Umrah this year. Verily, travel agencies are providing the Best Umrah package 2022.
