City View Restaurant is a Chinese Dim Sum restaurant in San Francisco’s Chinatown. that only serves lunch.. Our last visit was in the middle of 2023 when they moved in to a new location next to Portsmouth square. People of all ages, tourists, families, friend get togethers. City View Menu City View’s menu has the usual classic dim sum dishes. Pictures are next to each entry.  Not much in the way of modern inventive dimsum. City View Food Picks: Black Bean Spare Ribs ($6.50) did not have any black beans but was edible. A little spicy with the green jalapenos. 7.5/10 Sesame Ball with Lotus ($5.50) were 3 medium sized balls filled with just a little sweet filling. The crust was unusual, pretty thick and doughy. 7.5/10 Shrimp Dumpling or Har Gow ($9) were 4 delicate and nicely done shrimp balls filled with fresh shrimp and a thick wrapper. 8.5/10.
