Why did we dine here? – République is similar to Tartine in San Francisco, but they kick it up a notch. They serve Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We went for breakfast. There was a short line on a Saturday at 9am, but by 10am, the line was way out the door. Beautiful restaurant full of beautiful people. Insider Tip – Get in line EARLY for brunch Cuisine – French, Brunch Location – Hancock Park, Los Angeles Opened – 2013 Service – République was an order at the counter, get a number spot, but the servers did more than usual. A nice touch. Verdict – République has long lines for good reason. Beautiful baked goods along with accessible elevated standard classics. You cannot really pigeon hole this spot as French, when you have Vegetable Chili, Kimichi Fried Rice, and Quiche on the same menu. California at its best! Definitely will come back for dinner. Get your quality panettone and gingerbread men during holidays. Is this restaurant worth a 5 minute drive? Yes. 30 minute? Yes. 1 Hour?
