Kamala Restaurant outside the Tekka Center is another place to check out. For authentic South Indian food from Tanjore check Komla Vilas -the oldest restaurant in Little India. Khansama Tandoori Restaurant is well-known for both its fantastic ambience and food.
Kababs and Curries, the rooftop restaurant at the Mustafa Center Mall is a good place to try South and Central Asian food in Singapore. Try eating Mustard for Bengali fare or Jaggi’s for North Indian food. If you are full, maybe you can check out a few places to do a little bit of retail therapy.
Little India Singapore Shopping: When it comes to shopping, the Tekka Market above the MRT station near Bukit Timah Road is the place to be. One of the larger marketplaces it is known for its large wet market that sells fresh seafood, fish and produce. The hawker centre close by is where you can buy colourful Indian things and gorge on tasty food at one of the eateries.
Another must-visit is the Little India Arcade that is a two-storey edifice on a narrow lane between rows of shop-houses from the 1920s. You can find everything from jewellery, silverware, to clothes, handbags, and more.
Little India’s Serangoon Road is full of jewellery stores, old-style Indian tailors, high-end fashion stores, fresh produce stands, and ancient curry houses. The best time to shop here is morning or evening. The Mustafa Center is open all day. City Square Mall is an eco-friendly mall that has a large park inside. You can shop at one of the 200 outlets, check out the games arcade, eat or walk around the park.
