The name might ring a bell, well, in fact, the Kennedy Homestead was the birthplace of Patrick Kennedy, the great- grandfather of American President John F. Kennedy.

The museum/cultural attraction is dedicated to celebrating the Kennedys, offering you a fascinating insight into five generations of this famous family. The attraction has helped play an important role in keeping the legacy of the Kennedy family well and truly alive in Ireland.

Today the Kennedy Homestead is looked after by the family descendants that includes a state of the art visitor centre, with exhibits that take you through the incredible story of Patrick Kennedy and his family, all beginning when he left the Irish shores to pursue a life in American in 1848. You’ll soon know all about this famous Irish- American family, who have definitely made their mark on the Emerald Island and American that will never be forgotten.

The Kennedy family legacy is very strong in this part of County Wexford and at the homestead, you will uncover a very special collection belonging to the Kennedy family including audio-visual displays, photographic exhibition, memorabilia as well as guided tours that give you engaging insight into the history of the Kennedys.

The visitor centre located here was first opened to the public in 2013, which offered new and exciting exhibitions on the iconic family.

The Kennedy Homestead is one of the best places to visit in County Wexford when it comes to culture and heritage, tourist and locals alike will enjoy learning all about the Irish- American history on offer through one of the world’s most known family’s.
