Go to a Pumpkin Patch

Can you celebrate the fall season without visiting a pumpkin patch at some point? Probably not! It’s one of the top-rated things to do during the season. A pumpkin patch is a perfect place to visit with children of all ages. Whether you have teens, tweens, or even toddlers, you can make memories and explore the area while picking pumpkins and taking hayrides.

Not sure which pumpkin patch to visit? You have plenty of options. Some of the great places to visit in Colorado include the Colorado Pumpkin Patch and Longneck Pumpkin Farm. The Rocky Mountain Pumpkin Ranch is another top-rated spot to visit. Elk Fest in Estes Park is a family-oriented festival, perfect for those who’d like to have fun during the fall season. During the Elk Fest, you can check out the different vendors selling incredible food, beverages, jewelry, and other fantastic items. You never know what you might find while you’re there.

Take a Trip to One of the Local Farmers Markets

Be sure to take a trip to one or more of the local farmers’ markets throughout Colorado. The state is home to many incredible markets, including the Boulder Farmers’ Market, Broomfield Farmers’ Market, Vail Farmers Market and the Colorado Farm & Arts Market. While you’re at the markets, you can find lots of great fruits and vegetables available for purchase, along with assorted baked goods. In addition, you can find lots of great treats at these markets. Most importantly, you’re supporting the locals when you buy these incredible foods from them.

A fun train ride is only one way to take in the beautiful colors of the aspens turning gold. Take a drive on one of Colorado’s stunning mountain passes. Check out a family-friendly hiking trail. Take a leisurely horseback ride through mountain trails. Ride a bike, either on a mountain bike trail, down Vail Pass or along the river. Or, take this opportunity to try our an ebike with a tour. In our opinion, fall is a bit cool for camping. But it is the ideal time to check out Colorado glamping sites.

It would have been difficult to take a bad picture on our Palisade Ranch horseback ride at Gateway Canyons Resort.

Fall May be the Best Time to Visit Colorado

Visitors flock to the state for the epic skiing and snowboarding. But winter days are cold and short. Summer is amazing with colorful wildflowers, outdoor activities galore and more concerts than you can imagine. But like winter it is busy. Time seems to slow down a bit in fall in Colorado. Oh, there’s still lots to do. But kids are back in school. Weekdays in the mountains are quieter. Evenings are crisp. It is certainly a special time in this beautiful mountain state.

When you’re visiting Colorado in the fall, you can keep yourself entertained and busy while having a good time with family and friends. There are many great activities to participate in that allow you to make some great memories with loved ones. From visiting the local ZooZoo for trick-or-treating, going on a train ride to explore the area, visiting a pumpkin patch, celebrating Oktoberfest, and even seeing some of the farmers’ markets in the area that sells a bunch of neat things, you have lots of options available! So which activities would you like to do first?
