Estes Park is known as the gateway to the beautiful Rocky Mountain National Park. Cabins here are the perfect lodging for a socially distanced Rocky Mountain vacation with the outdoors just out of their front door.

Colorado is home to many mountain towns. But Estes Park offers the greatest selection of mountain cabins. Other Colorado mountain cabins are located in Grand Lake, Granby, Colorado Springs and even further to the west near other Colorado National Parks.

Estes Park lodging options include hotels, lodges, vacation homes, cottages and our personal favorite, cabins! Many of these cabins are dog friendly. Most offer full kitchens, space to spread out and even internet access.

For anything from a family Estes Park vacation or romantic getaway to a family reunion, Estes Park has cabins for any occasion located all around the town. Here are a few vacation rental ideas, if you’re looking to explore this beautiful area.

The Estes Park Center is bordered on three sides by Rocky Mountain National Park. It offers direct access to Rocky Mountain National Park. There are so many fun outdoor activities here including musical performances, art classes, dancing, wildlife viewing, forest education, sports tournaments, family campfires and even night hikes.

Estes Park Center has a couple of different lodges, an inn and cabins ranging in size from two bedrooms to four bedrooms. The cabins offer kitchen, bathrooms and all the comforts of home but in a spectacular alpine setting. This is an ideal location for family reunions or large groups. And, many of the cabins are pet friendly.

Solitude Cabins

Located in the beautiful Colorado Rockies, the fully furnished, four-season Solitude Cabins offer not only scenic views and adventures. But they also offer the optional breakfast basket or crockpot dinner, ready for you when you need to eat.

Looking to enjoy many of the attractions Colorado has to offer? The Base Camp at Solitude Cabins is less than two hours from tons of diverse opportunities; everything from the Rocky Mountain National Park or Old Town Fort Collins to Elitch Gardens Amusement Park or Red Rocks Amphitheater.

Tiny Town Cabins

Near Prospect Mountain and the Moraine Park Museum and Amphitheater, Tiny Town Cabins sit in a meadowland near the Big Thompson River. With views of the Rockies, this peaceful getaway offers fully stocked kitchens as well as outdoor cooking options.

As part of Trout Haven Resorts, the area also offers mini-golf and fishing. It is situated between downtown Estes Park and the entrance to the Rocky Mountain National Park. The cabins themselves are pet-friendly and equipped for all seasons.

Many of Colorado cabin rentals are located in the spectacular Rocky Mountain Park area near Grand Lake and Estes Park.

Idlewilde by the River

Each cabin at Idlewilde is equipped with everything you need, like a private residence. Several of the cabins are located right on the banks of the Big Thompson River. All cabins have a hot tub available.
Idlewilde is not far from downtown Estes Park. So it’s easy to enjoy everything the town has to offer. But if you prefer to stay near the cabins, the wildlife is abundant. Also you can go rock climbing, fishing, 4-wheeling, and you are also close to trails leading into the Rocky Mountain National Park.

Streamside on Fall River

Just a mile from the shops and restaurants of downtown Estes Park, Streamside Cabins are located along Fall River nestled in acres of pine and aspen trees. Open year-round, seasonal activities are in abundance, as are relaxing amenities.

Along with private decks equipped with hot tubs, most cabins have a fully functioning kitchen, free WiFi, grills, horseshoe pits, access to complimentary books, board games, or DVDs. Cabins are available with one or two bedrooms or even a studio style.

Other Estes Park Rentals

Our family prefers to rent directly with hotels and lodges, in general. But an AirBnb or VRBO Estes Park search may turn up some cabins for rent in Estes Park that aren’t on our list. There are other Colorado mountain cabin rentals worth considering in Granby, Grand Lake and further west or south. Cabins in Colorado are a fantastic want to immerse yourself in the great outdoors and nature.

No matter where you choose to stay, the Estes Park area is full of activities for all ages and occasions. Some of the most beautiful scenery in the entire United States, the Rocky Mountains, surrounds town. From guided adventures such as horseback riding, fly fishing, or river rafting, to hiking to beautiful waterfalls or festivals in town, Estes Park is a wonderful location for your next adventure.
