Making extra Money online isn’t hard and it’s easy if you have the extra time! We have officially made over 2,000 dollars extra from buying items and reselling online. We use this money to pay on credit cards, splurge on expensive dinners, and of course traveling. I’m constantly watching videos on YouTube about making extra money so I can continue to fund my obsession with traveling. I have been getting asked on Snapchat lately how I make extra money. Of course, $2,000 is not that much money, but when you combine it with travel miles/travel hacks you can practically travel for free! If you’re reading this and you’re not interested in traveling, you can also use this money to pay off debt or even just have extra cash to spend on the weekends.

It’s extremely easy and you only need $5 to start!

I wanted to challenge myself, so I started with $5 and I was able to turn it into $50 without that much effort. We enjoy going to thrift shops and antique shops, so this is an easy way for us to make money without going out of our way. If you don’t love thrifting, then this might not be for you! I will show you exactly what I bought, how much I Sold it for, and what I bought in return. It’s the snowball technique, but on a very low level!

How much money do I need to start making money online?

This question ultimately depends on you! If you have stuff in your house that you do not want, then start looking online to see how much it’s going for. If you’re going to donate the items it will take less than five minutes to check on Ebay or Poshmark to see if you could potentially make money off of those items. Items that can sell quickly are books, video games, and clothes. Here’s my challenge for you, go through your closets and look for clothing you do not wear anymore. Make a list of the clothing and take pictures. Now list all of that on Poshmark. Don’t worry, listing is free. I bet you can make at least $5!

Where to start with buying and reselling online?

One of the easiest ways to start is going to Goodwill, Salvation Army, and garage sales. You can find really good stuff here and flip it for a profit. I usually start in the books and media area and Cory starts with clothing. I will have my eBay app open and look for popular titles/authors. I started with $1 for this experiment and bought a Stephen King book. I instantly listed it on eBay for $14 + Shipping ($3.86). The book eventually sold for asking price + shipping! I now have around $15 after saving on shipping and handling by already have extra supplies. Everyone in my family and my wife’s family knows we are resellers. We are always saving up for our next vacation or weekend trip. We even have people in our family send us pictures of things they find that they think might sell!

Making money online is easy! We turned $1 into $16 and eventually turned $16 into $108

Cory’s dad reached out to us and said he found a few Disney pins at Salvation Army in Boston. We immediately said yes, pick them up and we will Venmo you money for them. The pins turned out to be very rare and only a few hundred were made. We used $10 from our previous $16 flip to pay for the two pins. I listed one pin for $85 on eBay that night and by the end of the auction, the pin sold for $108 + Shipping ( $5). The other pin is still listed for $45 and has been a slow-moving sell.

I was blown away that we were able to turn $1 into $108.

Yes, we did get lucky with her dad finding these rare pins, but it just shows you the good stuff places like Salvation Army can have! We were able to put an additional $100 into savings this week from one Saturday afternoon stop at Salvation Army. This may seem like a lucky weekend flip, but it’s not. We keep on doing it because consistency is key!

Let’s break this down

We started off with purchasing a Stephen King book for $1 and selling it for $14 + shipping ($3.86). The $15 profit went to purchasing two Disney pins for $10. I sold one Disney pin for $108 and one pin is still listed for $45.

Starting cash? $1. Total profit from this flip? $112. Time it took to make this happen? Less than one hour.

How to turn used clothes into extra money?

We recently had success at Plato’s Closet. Cory had clothes that were not moving on Poshmark, so we decided to bring them to Plato’s Closet before bringing them to Goodwill. Plato’s Closet is a reseller, just like us, so I understand when they low ball us on clothes, but if you’re bringing clothes that are going to Goodwill regardless it’s worth seeing what you can get. On this particular trip, we were able to make around $15 off this bag of clothes. Since Cory is the clothes reseller guru she went to work looking for possible flips while we were at Plato’s Closet. She ended up finding Disney Vans for $8.

Yes, Alice In Wonderland limited edition Vans high-tops for only $8. We instantly saw the potential in these so we bought them and listed them in the car.

We didn’t have a problem holding on to these shoes, so we started our listing out very high. We slowly started cutting the price and eventually sold these shoes for $45 + shipping ($15). We always try to save on shipping, so we sometimes make money from cutting costs there! Cory turned a bag of clothing going to Goodwill into $15 and used that to buy $8 shoes that we ended up turning into $55. This is another good example of not going out of our way or doing anything extra to make extra money online!

Let’s break this down

We received $15 for the bag of clothing and bought the $8 shoes. The shoes sold on eBay for $45 + shipping ($15). I was able to ship the shoes for $8 which saved another $2.

Starting cash? $0. Total profit from this flip? $54. Total time? Less than one hour.

How much money can you make on eBay and Poshmark?

We have made $1,500 in the last 90 days on eBay by buying items at stores and reselling for more online. On Poshmark we have made over $300 in the last 90 days! If you’re just starting or wanting to get started it’s best to know which platforms to sell items on. We have had luck selling clothes and houseware items on Poshmark. I have sold electronics, media, and collectibles on eBay!

Both apps are free to download and take less than 5 minutes to learn how to use them.

One of the most important features on eBay is filtering search items by sold. If something hasn’t sold in the last two months, then I would pass. One really important tip for Poshmark is whatever is trending will sell fast.

Honestly, we enjoy going to these unique stores and looking through all the stuff.

We did this way before we knew we could resell online and make money. The whole process of searching for something that you may keep or sell is exciting. There’s so much stuff out there that people do not want that you can sell! If you’re interested in what we have sold or what we are selling head over to our eBay store!
