Langtang trekking is a relatively short yet interesting trek, ideal for trekkers with limited time. Moreover, this region is relatively underrated in comparison to Everest Base camp trekking and Annapurna Base Camp trekking. After lunch, at the Trishuli valley (around 4-hour drive), continue to Dhunche, further, drive to Syabrubensi,(around 3-hour drive). The trail then makes a steep climb over a rocky ridge.Further, the route crosses to the north bank of Langtang River, and then climbs alongside a series of waterfalls, through the dense forest of oak, maple, and alder. Now the trail, descend gently to Changtang, popularly known as Lama Hotel.

Lama Hotel to Langtang Village (3500m)

The trail climbs steeply (in some places very steep). Trekkers will have an enticing view of Langtang Lirung (7246m) appearing through the trees. Further descending downwards the rugged trail, will reach Ghora Tabela (2880m). From here the trail climbs more gradually to Langtang village and narrow valley begins to open out from this region. During spring this trail blossoms with varieties of rhododendrons.Moreover, Langtang village is the headquarters for Langtang National Park.[caption id="attachment_3505" align="aligncenter" width="1024"]Langtang Valley[/caption]The houses in this region is a Tibetan-style flat roof and are surrounded by stone walls enclosing fields of potatoes, wheat, buckwheat, turnips, and barley. Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gompa (3890m)

On the way; we pass through village Mundu (3550m) and Sindhum. Tourists visit the famous cheese factory here. Moreover, there are plenty of interesting hikes from the Gompa.

Kyanjin Gompa to Kyanjin Ri (4773)

A hike to Langshisakharka valley is amazing. Kyanjin Ri, a two-hour climb or longer excursion is to Tsergo Ri(4984m), which is a four hours climb from Kyangin Gompa.
