Surajpur Wetland and Natural Forest in Surajpur, Greater Noida

The Surajpur Wetland and the natural forest is a natural habitat located in an urban locality on the banks of the Yamuna River Basin in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The Surajpur natural forest is home to more than hundred and eighty bird species which form a total of 48 families. There are about 82 species of water birds, 99 species of Woodland birds and 49 species of Grassland Birds. it is home to the Greylag Goose, Cotton Pygmy Goose, ferruginous Pochard, Northern Shoveler, Red-crested Pochard, Whistling Duck, winter waterfowls, spot-billed duck, goose and comb duck, Gadwall, and much more.

The Surajpur wetland and natural forest can be found located near the Surajpur Village in Dadri Tehsil within the district of Gautam Budh Nagar in the Greater Noida area of Uttar Pradesh. It is located about 3 km away from the Greater Noida city of Uttar Pradesh, 90 km away from Aligarh, 800m away from Delhi Noida Dadri road, 26 km away from Delhi, 24 kilometers from Noida, 6 km away from the Dadri railway station. The Surajpur wetland and the natural forest are given the protection status as that of a reserve forest and the Habitat is termed as that of a marshland. It is located on the bio geographic zone of the Gangetic plain. The entire area is surrounded with dry deciduous vegetation with a tropical monsoon climate receiving maximum rainfall during the months of July to October. The entire area is located at an altitude of 184.7 msl.
