{Best Cusco Bars and Clubs}

While Cusco is indeed a beautiful place during the daytime, it is a city that shows its true colors at night with an assortment of exciting nightlife entertainment options.

Comprised of the perfect number of bars, clubs and dangerously exciting Party hostels scattered throughout the city, Cusco is a place where you will never struggle to find a good party.

Not to mention with so many cheap bars in Cusco, partying here will not break your bank. Though it doesn’t have world-renowned nightlife or mega clubs similar to that of Ibiza, Cusco nightlife still happens to be one of the best places to party in Peru.

Therefore, I have taken the liberty of putting together a complete guide to help you find all the best nightlife in Cusco Peru.

Best Party Hostels In Cusco

Unlike other destinations, the Party Hostels in Peru are frequently some of the best places to party in the entire city. In particular, Wild Rover and Loki hostels are the two most popular party hostels in the Cusco nightlife scene.

Therefore, most people begin their nights here and then once they close, head out the other bars and clubs in Cusco.

Although we briefly review the best party hostels in Cusco here, I have written a full blog post for the best party hostels in Cusco if you need more information.

Wild Rover Hostel Cusco

This was where I chose to stay during my time in Cusco and thank god that I did.

Wild Rover is hands down one of the best party hostels in Cusco and consistently goes above and beyond to make every guest feel welcomed.

If you’re planning to party in Cusco, there is no better place to start off the night than some of the wild backpacker bars like at Wild Rover.

They host different themed events every night of the week that even manages to attract backpackers from outside hostels along with some Cusco local party heads.

However, what really helps Wild Rover Stand out among the rest is its level of cleanliness and distinctive dorm design.

Loki Hostel Cusco

If you really want to party hard in Cusco then look no further than Loki Hostel for all your hangover inducive entertainment.

Endless Loki Bombs, sexy body shots and super competitive beer pong tournaments are the first things that come to mind when I think of Loki. With one of the best backpacker bars in Cusco, a night spent partying at Loki is always good fun.

Similar to Wild Rover, Loki’s backpacker bar includes hostel guests along with people from all over the city joining in on the fun. In fact, Loki is located just a 5-minute walk down the road from Wild Rover.

Therefore, if you happen to be partying at Wild Rover first, once they close around 1 a.m, the Loki party which doesn’t close until 3 a.m is just a short drunken stumble away.

Best Bars And Clubs In Cusco

Aside from the above-mentioned backpacker bars at the Cusco party hostels listed above, there are several other good party venues.

Mama Afrika

Monday to Sunday | 7 p.m. to 4 a. m (oftentimes closes earlier during the week)

Hands down the most iconic Cusco nightlife venue famous for it’s heavy Latin rhythms, you can never go wrong with Mama Afrika.

Spinning the best tunes in Reggaeton, Salsa, with a dab of techno, Mama Afrika is a staple amongst many locals, backpackers, and ex-pats looking to party in Cusco.

Mama Afrika is known for its lively and welcoming atmosphere as well as its super strong yet affordable drinks.

The Pisco Sours, in particular, will knock you off your feet after your first few.

However, keep in mind, although Mama Afrika closes at 4 a.m on the weekends, they tend to close their doors a bit earlier on the weekdays.

Ukukus Bar

Monday to Friday | 6 p. m to 2 a. m
Saturdays | 6 p. m to 4 a. m
Sundays | 6 p. m to 12 a. m

For anyone who fancies live music, then be sure to visit Ukukus Bar located near the Plaza de Armas.

There's just something about this place that really gets the crowd going.

I don’t know if it is the talented band performances, the vibrant Inca murals plastered around the venue, wildly trippy décor, super-strong yet affordable drinks, or a combination of all four, but the folks who run Ukukus Bar really know how to get the party started.

Definitely one of the best things to do in Cusco at night, Ukukus Bar is a place that never disappoints.

La Chupitería

Monday to Sunday | 6 p.m -  3 a. m

Known as the “shot bar”, La Chupitería is a dangerously good time.

Depending on the crowd this place can either offer a more lowkey atmosphere great to just chill out with your friends or it can become quite boisterous and rowdy like some of the backpacker bars mentioned above.

You never really know with this place, and I guess that’s part of the beauty of it.

Additionally, with some deliciously dangerous and uniquely presented shots, La Chupitería has become one of the best places to party in Cusco.

Chango Nightclub

Monday to Sunday | 9 p. m to 6 a. m

Don’t even bother getting to this place early because Chango doesn’t really get going until late.

This is the most popular nightclub in Cusco as well as the best spot to go once all the other bars close.

The backpacker bars of Wild Rover and Loki never stay open later than 3 a.m.

Therefore, once those bars are finished, any party animals looking to keep things going will typically end up at Chango for further entertainment.

Which in Cusco is basically everyone!

Chango is open until 6 a.m every night of the week, so try to pace yourself a bit with those blood bombs and pisco sour shots otherwise you won’t make it all the way through the night.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Cusco A Party City?

Though I wouldn’t exactly classify Cusco as a party city, it is one heck of a good time.

With so many different options for nightlife in Cusco, ranging from the assortment of party hostels to late night clubs like Chango, Cusco is the type of place where you will never have to look too hard to find a good party.

However, if you really are looking to party in Cusco, then I highly recommend you stay at one of the suggested top 3 party hostels.  This is where you will see how truly wild the Cusco nightlife scene can become.

Where Is The Best Place To Stay In Cusco For Nightlife?

The best place to stay in Cusco for nightlife is any of the party hostels that we recommended or any hostel near the Plaza de Armas.

This is where the vast majority of Cusco bars and nightclubs are located.

Is It Safe To Party In Cusco?

Yes, I do in fact consider Cusco to be a very safe city to party in.  Especially when compared to the nightlife in Lima.

The vibes in Cusco are much easier going and less intimidating than partying in Lima. In fact, I can’t remember one sketchy moment or one time that I felt unsafe during my time partying in Cusco.  The same can’t be said for Lima, for which there were a few.

The majority of the bars, clubs and party hostels are located in the Plaza De Armas or just a short walk away so as long as you don’t go wandering off in a random direction, there will typically always be other people around.

What Should I Wear In Cusco At Night?

The Cusco dress code is extremely relaxed so no need to worry about getting too fancy.

However, your options are a bit limited by the cold weather in Cusco at night.
