If you’re looking for a luxurious retreat in Phuket with amazing views and great hospitality, you must try Como Point Yamu. The resort is located at the tip of Cape Yamu overlooking the Andaman Sea. The location is its biggest plus point as it provides the breathtaking views of the dramatic limestones of Phang Nga Bay and the majestic Andaman Sea.
We stayed in the resort for two days and Enjoyed their hospitality. As we entered the hotel after being greeted by their cordial staff, I was impressed with their beautiful traditional decor at the lobby. Those little pieces of art included pottery painted in vibrant colours, flower decorations and a figurines of a Thai couple. The white lanterns hanging from the top completed the rustic look. The decor of the hotel was a perfect blend of traditional touch and modern amenities.
We were seated comfortably on a bright coloured sofa and presented with a tray of welcome drink – ice tea along with a wet towel and a traditional fresh flower bracelet. We sipped on the drink while the staff completed their check-in formalities. It was a quick and easy process.
We were escorted to our selected Bay Room, which was spacious and offered great views of the vast Andaman Sea. Two chairs and a centre table was placed near the window where we relaxed and enjoyed those great views.
The room was equipped with complimentary fruits, tea/coffee maker, bottled water and a mini bar. There were snacks, chocolates, coconut water, juices and alcoholic drinks in the bar that you can use at additional cost. The kingsize bed with cotton sheets was cozy and comfortable. The mildly fragrant washroom was neatly decorated with blue coloured tiles and was equipped with complimentary toiletries and clean towels.
A silver bowl filled with water and fresh flowers was placed at the entrance of each room. It serves the purpose of decor as well as bring good luck to the guests.
The restaurant of the hotel was pool and sea facing. We enjoyed having our Breakfast there with the views to die for. The buffet breakfast was filled with choices and the menu changed everyday. From a variety of bread and croissants to soups, eggs, cheese and juices to coffee and tea – there was everything to satiate our taste buds. They also have an ala-carte menu in case the buffet isn’t enough.
After a hearty breakfast, we enjoyed the views outside the restaurant. The large blue pool of the resort perfectly blended with its surroundings. Although I didn’t get time to take a dip in the pool due to our pre-booked schedule, we did enjoy the magnificent views and the cool sea breeze after our breakfast everyday and clicked our favourite memories.
Overall, it was a lovely stay at Como Point Yamu and I would love to stay with them again whenever I’ll visit Phuket. There are a number of activities Como Point Yamu offers that include spa and wellness services, adventures such as fishing, diving and ATV tours and I would love to enjoy them all on my next visit.
